The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a multilateral fund created to make significant and ambitious contributions to the global efforts to combat climate change. The GCF contributes to achieving the objectives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement. In the context of sustainable development, the GCF aims to promote a paradigm shift towards low-emission and climate-resilient development pathways by providing support to developing countries to limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to climate change, while accounting for their needs and supporting particularly those that are vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change. The GCF is governed by a Board, composed of an equal number of members from developed and developing countries. It is operated by an independent Secretariat headed by an Executive Director.

The Office of the Executive Director (OED) seeks an Operations Assistant Consultant – Accreditation and Entity Relations to provide support to OED in functions relating to the accreditation process and Accredited Entity relationship management. The role will report to the Senior Accredited Entities Specialist and include working with members of the Accreditation and Entity Relations team and various divisions within the Secretariat in relation to the accreditation and Accredited Entity relationship management functions.

The consultant will be based at the Fund’s headquarters in Songdo, Incheon City, Republic of Korea, for an initial 12-month period. The total number of working days will not exceed 230 days in a 12-month period, in addition to 10 public holidays.
 

Role 
Under the overall guidance of the Senior Accredited Entities Specialist, the Operations Assistant Consultant – Accreditation and Entity Relations will support cross-Secretariat coordination, administrative coordination and database/information management related to various processes under accreditation (such as supporting and guiding entities seeking to become GCF Accredited Entities) and partner relations (including the negotiation of legal agreements with GCF Accredited Entities, guiding and reviewing Entity Work Programmes developed by GCF Accredited Entities and reviewing Accredited Entity institutional/corporate-level reporting to GCF).

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

•    Update and maintain the internal databases and email accounts related to accreditation and Accredited Entity relations, including those related to the accreditation process, partnership legal

     agreements with Accredited Entities (Accreditation Master Agreements), entity work programmes, Accredited Entity institutional/corporate-level monitoring and reporting, and consultations with

     Accredited Entities on GCF policies
•    Develop, track and review monthly dashboards of information on accreditation and entity relations
•    Respond to routine requests for information from external stakeholders and Secretariat divisions within a reasonable timeframe 
•    Prepare and manage documents related to:
•   The issuance of Online Accreditation System accounts and accreditation fee invoices, guidance to applicants on accreditation, support on preparing application review and recommendation

     documents, and other related duties as requested
•    The negotiation and finalization of Accreditation Master Agreements
•    Entity Work Programmes with Accredited Entities
•   The review of Country Programmes
•    Preparation and meetings with Accredited Entities
•    Internal and external correspondence and invitation letters
•    Support document preparation for Board and Secretariat-wide meetings (including collection of inputs and formatting of documents), presentations, etc.
•    Support OED with data and research assistance as needed
•    Carry out any other administrative and support duties as requested

 

Qualifications

•    Minimum one (1) years with a master’s level degree or three (3) years with Bachelor level degree of experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
•    Experience with institutional capacity building, projects, financial service industry and knowledge of international organizations is highly desirable 
•    Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and deliver quality work on time under pressure
•    Proficiency in office technology such as MS office package and conference call modalities
•    Highly collaborative, client-oriented, team player and experienced working in multi-cultural organizations
•    Reliable with confidential information and materials
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and experience preparing high quality written briefings, dashboard reports, and other documents; knowledge of another UN language is an

     advantage
