We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic colleague with a distinct data analytics profile to join our team, supporting our work across all PCG functions, and with specific focus on HR & people analytics, digital transformation, management reporting and business analysis and intelligence.

The role is responsible for providing high-quality, insightful analysis of UNOPS data as the basis for evidence-based decision making and innovative policy & process improvements.

The ideal candidate(s) will have excellent skills in quantitative/qualitative analysis, statistics and database knowledge, are client focused with excellent attention to detail and an ability and proven track record of prioritizing and supporting multiple projects/requests for support simultaneously.  

In addition to excellent data analytics capability it is expected that the incumbent(s) can derive meaningful conclusions and recommendations from the use of quantitative & qualitative data analysis. (S)he presents to and engages effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at HQ as well as UNOPS offices globally.

Functional Responsibilities

Reporting to the PCG Analytics and Business Intelligence Stream Lead the role is responsible for:

PCG project support

  • Collaborating with the PCG team to ensure consistent delivery of high quality HR and change management projects, training and/or other projects as assigned.

  • Maintaining quality performance under time pressure, prioritizing, planning and monitoring workload to meet the demands of tight work schedules.

  • Identifying ways of improving information delivery and data capture for PCG projects.


Data analytics and reporting

  • Managing People and Change data requirements for any reporting and analysis requests in consultation with PCG teams.

  • Using conceptual analytical and evaluative skills to support data analytics and business intelligence related projects. Conducting research and analysis independently.

  • Developing reports, dashboards, presentations, including statistical and graphical material for internal and external clients.


Practice development and knowledge sharing

  • Engaging with stakeholders in order to identify and understand their needs with the focus on improving accessibility of quality data and meaningful insights.

  • Communicating ideas and concepts clearly and convincingly.

  • Contributing to building a solid data infrastructure as a foundation for good corporate data for business analytics purposes and to continuously improve data quality in corporate systems.

  • Contributing to the dissemination and sharing of best practices and lessons learned for knowledge building.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:

A bachelor degree in business, management, engineering, econometrics, statistics, computer/data science or other related field is required. A master’s degree is a distinct advantage and may substitute for some of the required years of experience.

Alternatively, candidates with additional four years of professional experience, in lieu of a bachelor degree, may be considered.

Experience:

A minimum of two years of experience in business analysis, HR analytics or other analytics and business intelligence related projects.

Excellent data management experience, including strong competency with G-Suite (especially Sheets, Big Query, Data Studio) or similar tools is required.

Technical competencies in SQL and functional expertise in Data Science through modelling, hypothesis testing and predictive analysis for process and policy improvements are a distinct asset.

Experience working in an international environment is an advantage.

Language:

Fluency in English is required; Fluency in another UNOPS official language (French and / or Spanish) is a distinct asset

Contract duration: 1 Year (renewable, subject to funds availability, and satisfactory performance)
