Department

The MSF-USA Systems Department acts like the organization's central nervous system, providing the vital information infrastructure to ensure the smooth functioning of all its operations. The Systems Department is responsible for building, configuring and maintaining the technical architecture, both physical and virtual, which ensures MSF can achieve the ambitions of its mission.

Project

MSF-USA is seeking a Salesforce Administrator as we embark on an ambitious project to modernize our fundraising ecosystem through the implementation of Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP), Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Heroku, MuleSoft and Springboard. The successful candidate will work closely with in-house architects as well as external partners to understand the vision of the Salesforce ecosystem and help to implement ideas into reality. You will also work with business users who are utilizing the platform to deliver additional features and resolve bug fixes as necessary.

Tasks

Essential functions and responsibilities

You will be responsible for configuration and ongoing maintenance of the Salesforce platform, with design & requirements guidance from the project team. This includes:

Salesforce administration (100%)

  • Serving as the primary system administrator for the MSF-USA’s Salesforce environment
  • Handling all basic administrative functions including:
    • User account maintenance
    • Creating reports and dashboards
    • Running workflows and batch jobs
    • Promoting change sets from sandbox to production
    • Other routine tasks
  • Completing regular internal system audits and preparing for upgrades
  • Managing data feeds and other integrations using data loader and other appropriate tools
  • Working with the project team to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities
  • Assisting in training of new users, and growing the Salesforce skill set across the organization

  • Additional assignments as required

Extent of public contact

The Salesforce Administrator will have some contact with people outside the organization, including vendors, consultants, volunteers, and members of the general public.

Physical demands

This position requires remaining productive and focused within the context of a moderately noisy office with many interruptions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. MSF-USA's current policy is that all staff may be remote until July 1st 2021, from which point this position will be based New York, although this policy is subject to change.

Required qualifications

  • Certified Salesforce Administrator credential with at least 2 years of experience working in similar organizations, managing and administering the Salesforce CRM platform
  • Strong comfort level with the following:
    • Setting up users and profiles
    • Importing data using data loader
    • Customizing standard object model
    • Configuring lightning pages
    • Setting up permission sets, role hierarchies etc.
    • Deploying change sets
    • Configuring/managing sandboxes for development and deployment
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Strong team player who is able to collaborate with others

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to learn quickly and think creatively

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous exposure to Salesforce ecosystem components including Heroku, Marketing Cloud or Mulesoft
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Salesforce Advanced Admin are a plus
  • Backend integration/middleware experience is a plus
  • Experience with Nonprofit cloud/NPSP is highly desirable
  • Strong commitment to MSF mission and humanitarian principles
  • Familiarity with project management principles
  • Familiarity with non-profit organizations
