Information Management Coordinator will support the process of conducting research on the barriers faced by children and youth while accessing formal and non-formal education. Specifically, the position will ensure the quality of data collection, storage and analyses.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in the process of designing the most suitable data collection and analytical tools for the education research.
  • Ensure that all data collection tools, as well as the data storage and analytical software is utilized with higher respect to personal data protection and in compliance with NRC and donor regulations.
  • Provide guidance, supervision and capacity building to the Information Management Officer.
  • Provide technical assistance to the programme staff, including mentoring on data collection tools, data entry and analyses.
  • Ensure that collected data is accurate and put the quality check mechanisms in place
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in M&E, Information Management or similar field, preferably in a humanitarian organization.  
  • Previous experience in managing data collection, storage and analyses (including designing tools for each of these activities);
  • Previous experience in processing large amounts of data by using SPSS, Stata or other similar data processing tools/software.
  • Educational background in statistics/demographics/math/data analyses is preferable;
  • Previous experience of managing teams will be considered as an asset;
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts;
  • Fluency in English and Arabic both written and verbal;
  • Ability to analyze and visualize data to produce high quality reports.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Syria;
  • Understanding of data and information needs for programme management and decision making;
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training, mentoring and other formal and non-formal methods

We can offer
Contract Period: 4 months contract, with possibility to extend based on the budget availability and performance. 
Salary/Benefits: According to NRC's salary scale and terms and conditions. 
Duty Station: Damascus
