Information Management Officer G5 (National Position) - Damascus

Information Management Officer will support the process of conducting research on the barriers faced by children and youth while accessing formal and non-formal education. Specifically, the position will ensure that all data is collected, stored and analyzed in compliance with NRC guidelines and procedures. 
Duties and responsibilities
  • In coordination with the Information Management Coordinator, provide input to the process of designing most suitable tools for research data collection, its storage and analyses.
  • Provide support to data collectors on the use of tools and data entry methodology as relevant.
  • Ensure compliance of all information management activities with NRC and donor guidelines on data protection.
  • Provide technical inputs and expertise to the process of analyzing the research data and data visualization. Ensure that activities are implemented with the highest quality possible.
  • Ensure that all data is stored in a data management software in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct data cleaning and data analyses in coordination with Information Management Coordinator and Education program staff.
  • Prepare reports (visual, analytical) based on the collected data as requested;
  • Provide technical assistance to the programme staff, including mentoring on data collection tools, data entry and analyses. 
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in M&E, Information Management or similar preferably in a humanitarian organization.  
  • Previous experience in managing data collection, storage and analyses (including designing tools for each of these activities);
  • Previous experience in processing large amounts of data by using SPSS, Stata or other similar data processing tools/software.
  • Educational background in statistics/demographics/math/data analyses is preferable;
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts;
  • Fluency in English and Arabic both written and verbal;
  • Ability to analyze and visualize data to produce high quality reports.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Syria;
  • Understanding of data and information needs for programme management and decision making;
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training, mentoring and other formal and non-formal methods;

We can offer
Contract Period: 4 months contract, with possibility to extend based on the budget availability and performance. 
Salary/Benefits: According to NRC's salary scale and terms and conditions. 
Duty Station: Damascus
