Associate, Communications and Knowledge Management

 

The Associate is a full-time GGGI staff who will be responsible for supporting the country team to promote knowledge and awareness relating to green growth and GGGI programs in Cambodia, through strategic communications and targeted desk research. The Associate will support the development and implementation of the GGGI Cambodia’s Programmatic Communication Plan, under the guidance and leadership of the Country Representative (CR).

 

Purpose

  • Work closely with the country team to develop, implement and monitor communications strategies, for the entire GGGI Cambodia portfolio as well as specific projects
  • Communicate project results through strong messaging and visualization
  • Proofread, design and assist in publishing of GGGI documents, ensuring alignment with GGGI’s and donors communication guidelines, ensure visual identity aligns with GGGI’s identity and message.
  • Review, edit and copy edit GGGI knowledge products including reports and training materials
  • Stay abreast of research and news relevant to GGGI areas of work and synthesize key messages for GGGI colleagues and key audiences
  • Undertake secondary research to inform projects, project proposals and knowledge products

 

Engagement

  • Maintain relationships with national and international media community built including journalists, bloggers, online news outlets, and audiences that will help advance GGGI work and branding
  • Support communication initiatives by donors and development partners as relevant, to ensure alignment and complementarity
  • Provide smooth liaison with Cambodia’s Communication Unit in HQ
  • Liaise with communication service providers such as graphic designers, printers, events organizers etc. to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of tasks

 

Delivery 

  • Ensure that news and updates related to the Cambodia county programs are regularly posted to internal platforms – Info Hub and Yammer
  • Manage all GGGI Cambodia’s social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) and other communication channels
  • Keep Monitoring and reporting communication successes/challenges, including through web/social media analytics
  • Develop all communication materials and publications including but not brochures, leaflets, flyers, social media cards, briefing notes, factsheets, posters, banners and so on
  • Draft press releases, event-write ups, web-content, blog posts, desk research reports. Develop and select accompanying illustrations, infographics and photos
  • Arrange and coordinate press conferences/event in consultation with project managers and partners
  • Support the communications all GGGI events and webinars for Cambodia country programs Organize awareness raising campaigns or events
  • Be responsible for photography at GGGI Events for Cambodia program and manage picture data base kept up to date and relevant

 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the field of Media and Communications, Journalism, Broadcasting or an academic field related to green growth
  • 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of communications, which may include organizing communication events/campaign, media content development and editorial work, developing communication materials, visualization, and design
  • Highly proficient in use of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, other)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft 365 application, particularly SharePoint and Teams, is an asset
  • Experience in the use of Content Management Systems such as WordPress
  • Skills and experiences with design software and applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign, or Canva
  • Excellent English oral and written communication and drafting skills (a written assignment will be part of the selection process)

 

Functional

  • Strong analytical skills, with strong capacity to synthesize complex ideas into appealing messages for a broad audience
  • Good understanding of gender and social Inclusion which are key for the GGGI portfolio in Cambodia. These need to be mainstreamed and/or applied in all deliveries and outputs.
  • Good understanding of the Cambodia media environment with specific knowledge of the broadcasting sector. This includes practical experience in media relations, external relations or other relevant fields.
