M&E and Reporting Assistant

Eligibility criteria

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of a Project Manager or his designated mandated representative(s), the UNV M&E and Reporting Assistant will:

  • Responsible for clear and timely reporting under the projects results framework, while providing for support to any ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes.
  • Review the documents provided by UNDP to obtain better understanding of the project goals, context and profiles of the targeted BMOs in Ukraine including assessments conducted by UNDP. Provide full support with data collection to regularly track changes of monitoring key indicators and the actual status of development of 27 partner business membership organizations, including, but not limited to: number of members, new members, member retention rate, share of MSMEs among members, share of women entrepreneurs among members, budget, share of members paying fees, share of income from service provision, services offered to MSMEs on a cost-recovery basis, industry-based standards or independent professional certifications developed, laws/sub-laws to which comments provided, coalitions joined or created and more. Assist with data entry, data analysis and data interpretation of surveys and interviews.
  • Follow up on reporting requirements (formats, deadlines…) and procedures, establish the reporting calendar and initiate/prepare the reports in cooperation with other colleagues. Create and maintain spreadsheets and dashboards required for efficient reporting.
  • Ensure that projects’ monitoring data is entered into the relevant data management systems (Atlas ERP, corporate intranet and other).
  • Maintenance and archiving of all supporting records, documents and files from monitoring and research activities (raw data, evidence etc).
  • Assist in preparation of narrative inputs for briefings, regular and ad-hoc reports to UNDP and donors, factsheets, situation reports, activity-specific reports, publications, statements for internal and external use etc.
  • Support to identify and formulate lessons learned from project innovation pilots with partner BMOs, evaluations, and studies.
  • Support strategic research initiatives by collating, compiling and analysis of data from various sources, preliminary scoping studies or briefs, contributing to drafting the Terms of Reference for research activities.
  • Support project efforts related to policy and advocacy by providing robust evidence based on relevant and latest information.
  • Support capacity building initiatives on RBM and improving data quality systems for relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist with organization of regular and ad-hoc meetings related to projects research, data collection, monitoring and evaluation activities; help prepare relevant documentation/background notes, presentations, and meeting minutes/summaries of actions to be taken.
  • Support projects evaluation, including data and information collection and consolidation, scheduling of meetings, logistics or other related tasks, as requested. Assist with follow up on implementation of evaluation recommendations.
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant area, e.g. economics, marketing, statistics, international development, social sciences, information systems or other area related to the assignment.

Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, research, data collection or data analysis, or other relevant programmes;
  • Experience in designing reports with Power BI is a strong asset (samples might be requested).
  • Experience of working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset.
Language skills:
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • Ukrainian(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
Area of expertise: Monitoring and evaluation, Other development programme/project experience Area of expertise details:
  • Expertise in usage of statistical packages such as SPSS / STATA is an asset.
