Senior Field Assistant

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task

The national UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Assist in the implementation of UNHCR programmes, including the delivery of material assistance to persons of concern (recipients)..
  • Assist in carrying out assessments of damaged private buildings in priority locations that have been identified.
  • Assist in verifying any bill of quantity (BoQ), execution plan, including defining the scope of works, technical drawings and specifications for internal analysis.
  • Support the market analysis of locally available NFI, construction materials and skills.
  • Participate in needs assessments as a member of Multi-Functional Team (MFT).
  • Assist in monitoring UNHCR programmes as a member of MFT.
  • Assist in collecting data and other information relevant to UNHCR.
  • Regularly report on work progress of various activities.
  • Any other duty, as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:
  • Technical education (vocational school or specialized high school certificate) in construction, civil engineering or related field (Bachelor degree is desirable) is desirable.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office package (excellent knowledge of Excel, good working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Internet browsing applications.
Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with and knowledge of displaced populations.
Language skills:
  • Russian(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • English(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
  • Ukrainian(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge
