ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

In Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, WFP provides life-saving assistance to more than 850,000 Rohingya refugees and over 300,000 most vulnerable households in the local communities. WFP implements a range of programmes including integrated food and nutrition assistance, school feeding activities, emergency preparedness and tailored livelihoods programme to support the most vulnerable population.

JOB PURPOSE

WFP is currently seeking for a Partnerships Associate based in WFP Office in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.  The incumbent, under the overall supervision of the Head of External Relations & Reports, will support and contribute to donor proposals, high-level donor field missions and overall resource mobilization efforts. The Partnerships Associate will work closely with team members within the unit as well as Programme, Resource Management and Communications teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)


The Partnerships Associate will work under the overall guidance and supervision of the Head of External Relations & Reports.

The incumbent will be assigned to the following duties:

  • Coordinate with other units in preparation of high-level donor missions to the Cox’s Bazar district. This includes showing donors WFP’s operational activities in the field, preparing itineraries, and briefing documents and talking points as well as liaising with Programme and Administration colleagues.
  • Supports in identifying, building and maintaining effective partnerships with current and prospective donors, ensuring the WFP Cox’s Bazar operation is well funded; 
  • Within the specific area of responsibility, prepare a range of reports and data analysis (e.g. external relations & reports tracking sheet, find relevant resource mobilization documentation on WINGS,) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control.
  • Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. collecting data, funding proposals and donor reports) and consistency of information presented to stakeholders. 
  • In collaboration with the Resource Management Unit, assist in drafting a monthly resource outlook and mapping of donor contributions.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within a specific technical area of responsibility. 
  • Oversee and/or review the work of other support staff, providing practical advice and guidance, to contribute to delivering objectives to agreed standards and deadlines. 
  • Conduct field visit to collect information and stats for on-going programmes/ projects, when required.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, draft letters as well as taking and disseminating meeting notes and action points.
  • If required, support Reports Colleagues on report writing, compiling fact sheets, situation reports, etc
  • Perform any other tasks required in the context of the  WFP operations in Cox’s Bazar.
     

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education: Completion of post-graduation or graduation degree in Political Science, International Relations , Economics, Marketing, Communications , Business Administration, English  and other related field.

Experince :  A minimum of five  years of experience  and  preferably at least three years relevant experience in external relations and/or reporting.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Bangla.


Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with the refugee and host community context of Cox’s Bazar.
  • Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally and possess exceptional verbal and written communicational skills
  • Collaborative spirit able to liaise with a wide range of people at all levelsand across different cultures and to act with credibility and diplomacy
  • Attention to details and strong coordinating skills.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
