The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world’s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, have been registered in Bangladesh since 2013. In 2017, in response to the Rohingya influx, DRC launched an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI and protection. In 2018, DRC started implementing aid projects in support of the host communities most affected by the influx of refugees.  As a key part of this, DRC opened a main office in Cox’s Bazar, and a support/liaison office in Dhaka.

POSITION PROFILE

To provide day to day livelihood project management assistance and support related to livelihood field activities in compliance with DRC's and local guidelines and procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in day-to-day projects implementation of the Livelihood projects.
  • Partake in the livelihood’s skill and capacity development events.
  • Support beneficiary’s identification and selection processes with the team
  • Active participation to field assessments (logistic organization, identification of needs, monitoring)
  • Facilitate Field level training programmes and data gathering (hard and soft) and compilation as best practices.
  • Gather, compile and documented all field information and documented systematically.
  • Maintain a data profile based on collected information.
  • Facilitate to CFW volunteer registration process with IM/MEAL sector
  • Facilitate to skill development (vocational and life skill) , and income generation related training for stakeholders.
  • Facilitate to formal and non- formal female groups formation in Camps and host.
  • Facilitate to Cash for Work and Cash distribution events.
  • Facilitate to the women volunteers in camps and host.
  • Ensure DRC Code of Conduct is understood, acknowledged in writing,
  • Ensure targets are met under the approved work plans and all trackers are regularly updated.
  • Prepare all necessary financial and logistical documentation for the team’s work, in line with DRC procedures.
  • Day to day communication to the field staff and volunteers at field level.
  • Any other tasks as may be required from programmatic support directed by the line manager.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum 1-year experience working with an NGO/CBOs in an emergency/humanitarian response setting.
  • Minimum 6-month experience in Livelihoods related project implementation
  • Minimum experience in participatory tools for identifying targeted is an advantage.
  • Experience of implementing income generating activities, vocational and skill building interventions will be an added advantage.
  • Involve in livelihoods activities with Cash assistance and input distribution during Covid-19 period in an extra advantage.
  • Chittagong/Cox’s Bazar local incumbent will get preference.
  • Familiar with in Microsoft Office packages
  • Must be willing to work during Friday’s and Holidays if requested

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION  

  • Preferably a graduate in any discipline

 LANGUAGES  (indicate fluency level)

  • Chittagonian and Bangla (advanced)
  • English (not required)
