SCOPE OF INTERN WORK: The Farming and Food Processing Intern will play a vital role during the growing season. They will assist in the daily operations associated with working on a farm that sells to various wholesale outlets and markets. Duties may include: supporting farmers and staff with harvesting, transporting, and processing produce for wholesale accounts and markets, basic farmland management (weeding, checking irrigation, compost-management, and non-toxic pest management), etc. Bi-weekly (twice a month) educational opportunities with the New Roots Logistics Specialist and/or Farm Coordinator.
COMMITMENT: May 3rd through August 20th, 2021, 15-20 hours per week. Desired work days: Tues-Thurs, two days per week 7.5 hours/day or 3 shorter days. Work duties will be mostly (approximately 90%) in person and limited remote (approximately 10% remote maximum time).
