The Refugee, Immigrant, and Migrant (RIM) COVID Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for developing and conducting COVID outreach to RIM communities. In collaboration with the Health Program Manager, s/he will be responsible for creating and delivering COVID health educational materials including videos, social media posts, and flyers, disseminate and track produced content to clients and Community Based Organizations, coordinate focus groups, supervise and train community health workers, conduct qualitative research and identify COVID community champions. The position reports to Health Program Manager under the Health Department in Tucson.

 

Major Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the Health Program Manager to develop a targeted outreach plan to reach RIM communities.

• Develop dissemination and tracking plan for targeted communities, execute dissemination & collect analytical information (with support from project's M&E Manager)

• Facilitate activities designed to gather data about COVID-19 knowledge, attitudes, and practices, particularly related to vaccine hesitancy and acceptance in different populations and how these change over time with messaging among RIM communities.

• Review, edit and provide material feedback on produced content and other materials.

• Participate in weekly bilateral meetings with project leads across the IRC network to share strategies on project deliverables, discuss best practices, and tackle challenges.

• Coordinate video and audio message recordings with RIM community members on COVID risk mitigation, vaccination, and contact tracing.

• Identify and help recruit COVID Champions to develop and deliver innovative ideas for engaging community members and participate in multimedia campaigns.,

• Support COVID Champions to facilitate focus groups, recruit key informants, conduct surveys, and engage with RIM community members through social media such as Facebook Live events, WhatsApp group chats, etc.

• Supervise, train, and support Community Health Workers’ (CHWs) in COVID outreach efforts.

• Follow all IRC policies, procedures and protocols including adherence to the IRC Way and Child Safeguarding.

 

Key Working Relationships:

Position Reports to:   Health Program Manager

Position directly supervises: Community Health Workers, Interns, and volunteers within program.

Indirect Reporting:Senior Program Manager, IRC Tucson Director, IRC HQ

Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal: IRC staff, interns, and volunteers

External:  Community partners, religious and faith-based communities, DES, law enforcement, schools, Banner University Medical Center, Pima County Health Department, Arizona State Refugee Health Coordinator, and other medical providers.
