Purpose for the job

Under the direct supervision of the Fundraising Officer (Individual), NOB, and in close collaboration with the different functional areas of de Private Fundraising and Partnership (PFP) team, this post is responsible for the supporting the implementation of the individual donors' acquisition plan (Face-to-Face & Telemarketing), framed in the Annual Fundraising Work plan, as well as to lead the implementation of acquisition campaigns and / or channels derived from these main traditional channels (e.g. Corporate Pathway to Pledge, DRTV, and Telethon, etc.).

 

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks

Provides technical support for planning, implementing and monitoring of all acquisition channels under her/his responsibility.

 

1. Conjointly to IG team and the PFP team, assists in the preparation of the annual Individuals Fundraising Plan in regard to donors’ acquisition channels which this position manages (mainly F2F and TMK) that is part of the Fundraising Annual Work-plan by gathering forecasts of income and expenses, ensuring the quality and relevance of the key performance indicators proposed by each acquisition channel under her/his responsibility and providing relevant information on opportunities and trends in the market.

2. Provides technical support for the negotiation and agreements, looking for the best possible conditions for UNICEF, with the different vendors, allies and partners, such as banks, credit cards, database companies or any other companies or institution.

3. Help analyze the ROI and results from different individual giving actions vis-a-vis their strategies and objectives.

 

Effectively implements and coordinates all donor acquisition campaigns under her/his responsibility, focusing on achieving the targets.

1. Responsible for ensuring the right and timely implementation of the channels under her/his responsibility, that are part of the individual donors' acquisition activity plan aimed to acquire new pledge and one-off donors.

2. Responsible for the quality assurance of the different fundraising materials developed or updated such as scripts, pitch cards, clothing, flyers, info-graphs, training material, workshops and presentations.

3. Monitors the performance of the different channels under her/his responsibility, implemented as part of the individual donors’ acquisition plan. Alerts on underperforming and over performing channels for an optimized implementation of the investment and resources allocated to that end.

4. Provides technical training to achieve goals for each acquisition campaign to the team in the office or the suppliers.

 

Performs regular monitoring and evaluation reports to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of individual fundraising efforts, sharing results and reports on a timely basis.

1. Gathers information from different donors' acquisition channels under her/his responsibility, implemented along the year to prepare reports and dashboards required by the Individual Fundraising Officer.

2. Advices on different tools and requirements for an optimum implementation of individual donors' acquisition work plan of traditional channels. Sustain with quality information and analysis the requests for incorporating new tools and resources as part of the donors' acquisition infrastructure and network of suppliers.

3. Help liaises with the different donors' acquisition specialists based in LAC Regional Support Centers or Geneva PFP HQ (Telemarketing, Face to Face, etc.).

4. Support in the coordination of rapid and efficient activation of emergency fundraising plans within the team driving each acquisition channel.

5. Coordinate weekly team meetings with special focus on: deadlines, drawbacks and progresses. Also, lead, motivate and coordinate her/his team in order to keep it engaged and achieving their goals.

6. Search and analyze potential partners and initiatives (media, database companies, services companies, direct marketing agencies, payments methods) to look after new individual fundraising opportunities.

 

Propose innovative and cost-effective marketing strategies and marketing content (design, components, and timing) of the different activities & campaigns related with donor acquisition and cultivation.

1. Periodic analysis of trends, profiles, consumers behavior and attitudes. Propose innovations and improvements.

2. Assist in the periodic update, enrichment and cleaning of donors' database.

3. Test A/B campaigns, proposals and formats

 

Carries out administrative tasks and responsibilities effectively.

1. Provides technical support to search and evaluate potential suppliers, prepares terms of reference for quotations and follows up on the processes.

2. Assist in CRC processes and other administrative mechanisms in those cases related to administrative issues.

3. Monitors contracts, budget, invoices and some financial expenditures of the channels under her/his responsibility, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations, keeping supervisor informed and advised on actions for decision/follow up.

4. Help supervises Fundraising Associates assigned to this post while being able to provide proper guidance and expertise to those issues that require special tutorial.

5. Use VISION systems to administrate different financial processes.

6. Ensure the completion of Achieve Plans both own and of all staff under supervision within the proposed deadlines.

 

Promote cross-functional coordination and collaboration with other areas:

1. Analyze and support the implementation of innovative proposals for IG campaigns to generate pledge donors in close coordination with the Fundraising Officer (Individual) and other Individual Giving team members or departments.

2. Supervise the correct carried out of procurement processes for individual giving campaigns of TLM and Face to Face channels in close coordination with the Supply dept.

3. Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with partners

RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

A University degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication Sciences, Business Administration or relevant field with additional training in a relevant field.

Experience: 

One year of progressively responsible work experience in marketing, promotions, commercial or fundraising areas.

Experience and knowledge in any of following commercial or marketing areas: Telemarketing or Call Centers, Face 2 Face or Direct Dialogue sales, advertising and mass communication campaigns.

Experience in working for international organizations doing fundraising is an asset.

Previous work experience with UN System and/or experience in human and children rights is an asset.

Language:

Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Knowledge of a local language of the duty station (as quechua, aimara, and amazonic) is considered as an asset.
