SCOPE OF WORK: 
The IRC Phoenix New Roots Program’s focus is to help newly-arrived refugees, asylees and other immigrant populations access fresh, affordable and healthy produce, better integrate into their communities, and navigate their new food systems. The New Roots program currently operates 3 growing sites and partners with 3 additional sites across the Phoenix area. This position will serve as the marketing and outreach intern for the New Roots program and will work directly with the New Roots Specialist.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•Manage New Roots social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram
•Create and distribute monthly New Roots newsletter
•Design promotional program flyers 
•Assist with development of New Roots marketing campaign 
•Document program classes, workshops and events and write short success stories highlighting different New Roots projects and clients
•Present on New Roots programming to internal IRC staff and external partners
•Assist the New Roots Specialist and other New Roots staff with ongoing program tasks as needed

LEARNING OUTCOMES: An Intern will learn the following skills:
•Marketing and outreach techniques to encourage community engagement in New Roots
•How to actively manage a successful online media presence 
•Develop new methods of communication
•Expand communication and marketing skills
