Overview of position

COVID-19 pandemic is an extraordinary situation of unprecedented scale and severity of a global public health concern. Several activities are planned to be implemented both for prevention of transmission of COVID-19 virus and vaccination of all eligible population. Therefore, establishment of a well-organized procurement and logistics management of health supply chains and associated planning requirements is important for quality and timely accomplishment of the planned activities. 

UNICEF is expanding its support to strengthen Primary Health Care services where Supply and logistic management is one of the key components of the Ministry of Health (MoH) in the procurement of quality approved medicines, equipment and vaccines cold chain. This support has increased amid COVID-19 challenging circumstances. 

In light of this, UNICEF Libya is seeking the services of Warehouse consultant to support MOH in the East of the country to Monitor and control warehouse inventory by overseeing, directing and coordinating the movement of supplies, products and merchandise into and out of the warehouse for a period of three months, with a start date of 25th March 2021. 

Role objectives

Under the guidance and close supervision of the UNICEF Health officers, the consultant will assist in the following: 

1. Inspect incoming inventory and equipment for quality before storing or distribution. 


2. Support program in applying and documenting Quality Control warehouse inventory, receiving, storing, management and FIFO as per national standard procedures. 

3. coordination to ensure that stock movements up to distribution sites are documented and updated in stock reports. 

4. Support regular inventories to ensure adequate amounts of equipment and supplies are available for program implementation. 

5. Coordinate and update country supply team. 

6. Immediately report on any incidence which might affect supplies. 


Project reporting
To the project Manager 
Key competencies • Completion of secondary school education is required
• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible warehouse-related work experience.
• Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic.

Qualifications required
• Completion of secondary school education is required

Years’ experience
• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible warehouse-related work experience.

The facilitators are expected to be fluent in Arabic and English ( writing and speaking)
Team management
This role does't require a management field 
Further information
  1. Job Administration:
  • It is a full-time job based in Tripoli that might require some travel to other locations of the country as per supervisor request
  • The consultant is expected to be in on the warehouse at least 80 % of his /her time
  • The monthly payment is subject to the receipt of the certified monthly report against the detailed work plan agreed and signed off by the supervisor at the beginning of eash month.
