SCOPE OF WORK: 
The Intensive Case Management (ICM) Program Interns assist with the long-term successful integration of refugees and immigrants in their new communities. They provide comprehensive case management and advocacy for clients who have significant barriers in achieving self-sufficiency. A strong emphasis is placed on providing health and medical focused case management. ICM Interns will work closely with the ICM caseworker to provide culturally competent and linguistically appropriate services to refugee and immigrants. Interns will learn how to provide trauma-informed, person-centered, strengths-based services that promote health and safety, inspire confidence, respects choice, and assists clients towards self-determination as they become active members of their community.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Under the supervision of the Health Services Supervisor and ICM Caseworker, ICM interns will assist with the following:
•Provide direct service to clients through one-on-one interactions (telephonic);
•Design Customized Self-Sufficiency Plans as appropriate for addressing the client’s particular vulnerability/vulnerabilities;
•Assist with assessments and intakes; 
•Provide training for the clients including cultural orientation, transportation, life skills, job readiness training, banking, budgeting classes and client rights and responsibilities;
•Identify needs and gaps and create solutions and trainings to address those needs and gaps;
•Assist clients with connecting to community resources (including: food banks, libraries, shelters, etc.);
•Coordinate individual appointment logistics with health or social providers;
•Provide transportation for client appointments, as needed;
•Research community resources and continue to expand the resource lists;
•Document all activities in case notes and send weekly client reports;
•Input client data in tracking systems (ETO); 
•Other relevant program support duties, as assigned.
