Job Overview: The Program Officer, Community Sponsorship will lead IRC’s work in collaborating with field offices and clients to develop and pilot a cohesive community sponsorship program in the United States that will pull from aspects of existing community sponsorship models with a client- centered approach. The Program Officer will report to the Director of Resettlement and work closely with the Senior Program Officer for Volunteer Programs and Special Projects. The Program Officer will also partner with other resettlement agencies, government agencies, and other stakeholders to grow community sponsorship within the IRC network.
Major Responsibilities:
•Design and oversee a community sponsorship pilot in RAI offices;
•Develop community sponsorship training materials for IRC staff, community sponsors, and IRC clients
•Liaise with IRC field offices, resettlement agencies, government contacts, the private sector, and other stakeholders on community sponsorship implementation;
•Collaborate with external and internal research teams to develop monitoring and evaluation tools;
•Oversee and complete monitoring of the pilot to track progress, identify challenges and necessary mitigation measures;
•Monitor, adjust, and advocate for sustainable levels of financial and in-kind contributions required of sponsors;
•Ensure early identification of risks affecting the implementation of the pilot and propose solutions based on a national context;
•Develop connections with national networks to build support for community sponsorship;
•Utilize learnings from pilot to enhance sponsorship programming across IRC’s network;
•Support the design and implementation of high-quality programs by contributing to the ongoing, timely collection, review, and use of high-quality program data and evidence and
•Other duties as assigned.
