Job Background/Summary:
The Data Analyst is an integral member of the Charitable Giving (CG) Analytics Team and is responsible for providing comprehensive analysis for Charitable Giving by utilizing strategic thinking, problem solving skills, and the ability to turn data into actionable results and recommendations. The Analyst will be responsible for key business intelligence functions such as scheduled and ad-hoc analy sis, data integrity assurance, and data management.
As a member of the CG Analytics Team, the Data Analyst will strive to use a cohesive analytical approach and disciplined execution and will help to implement the CG Analytics & Data Vision/Strategy within Charitable Giving.
The Data Analyst will be an active member of the overall CG Analytics Team, which will strive to make Charitable Giving efforts more:

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Internal consultant function

    • Deliver in-depth data analysis for CRS Charitable Giving, which includes Annual Giving, Planned Giving, Leadership Giving, Hispanic Development, Mid-Level Giving, and Donor Discovery units.
    • Create and maintain concise and easy-to-read reports on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis using the CG Analytics Team’s data warehouse in conjunction with Tableau and other visualization and analytical tools
    • Synthesize data to generate in-depth analysis to colleagues that provides nuanced recommendations that will influence strategy and drive tactical changes to meet goals
    • Actively and independently learn about each CG unit and their respective data and proactively anticipate the types of analysis that each unit will need to accomplish their goals and objectives
    • Collaborate closely with other analysts on reporting, analysis, and larger projects
  • Lead Charitable Giving business intelligence efforts as a data analytics expert and subject specialist

    • Effectively communicate subject matter as the analytical expert and present analysis, methodology, and recommendations in a clear and logical manner to lay staff
    • Support digital fundraising initiatives by extracting data from various sources and aggregating results
    • Independently examine reports and processes to find innovated ways of improving workflow
  • Optimize and streamline routine data functions, data maintenance, and data integrity

    • Ensure timely completion of routine data functions such as data uploads for vendor, reporting updates and performing quality control on benchmarking projects
    • Maintain data integrity and offer recommendations on best practices to ensure that data maintenance and data integrity are being upheld
  • Proactively share knowledge and expertise in support of the Analytics Manager and the Analytics team

    • Support the CG Analytics team through proactive contribution and knowledge sharing
    • Openly share and provide expertise on new software and analysis methods with colleagues in a way that provides value to the overall conversation/effort

Internal: Director of Analytics, Analytics Manager, Directors and Managers in Charitable Giving
External: Consultants
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in analytical reporting and in-depth analysis
  • Knowledge of digital analytics and attribution modeling desired
  • Curiosity and strong desire to take the initiative, experiment, and learn independently
  • Strong knowledge of databases and data visualization software (Tableau preferred)
  • Experience with Python and SQL desired, but not required
  • Proven written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate successfully with a diverse group of individuals and teams
  • Ability to listen effectively, learn quickly, and communicate/convey deliverables to all levels
