Scope of volunteer work: Under the supervision of the Sr. Coordinator for Program Quality & Digital Equity, the digital equity intern will provide support to advance initiatives around digital equity, training and literacy to ensure individuals, families, and communities served by IRC Seattle have digital skills and access to further their engagement, education, and economic empowerment goals. This intern position will also assist the development of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, client feedback and program analysis.
Location: Remote – Working with the IRC in Seattle.
Time commitment: Minimum 10 hours/week during IRC office hours (M-F, 9a-5p), 2-3 days/week. Regular schedule required. 6 month commitment. Position begins June 1st, 2020.
Essential position functions:
•Explore digital needs of newly arrived refugees, SIVs, and other IRC Seattle participants and make recommendations for developing standard supports as part of routine service provision.
•Design and implement curriculum and programming that broadens the access of IRC Seattle participants to education, support, and opportunities for digital access and connection.
•Speak with IRC program participants on subjects including, but not limited to digital literacy, program success, service delivery, and skill gaps
•Collect, input and analyze client feedback mechanisms
•Create, organize and distribute digital learning resources across IRC programs and constituent communities and partners.
•Collect client stories to showcase benefits of digital literacy trainings
•Assist with data entry and other program or digital equity priorities as needed
