The External Relations (ER) department was created in early 2020 and is comprised of 3 main but complementary functional areas: Private fundraising, Communications and Advocacy. The department is in the beginning stages of building a new ambitious strategy that will improve IRC’s ability to ‘punch above its weight’ in private income, advocacy, and brand awareness.
Supporting this endeavor, and an integral part of ER, is the Global Partnerships and Philanthropic Services (GPPS) Unit. Reporting into the VP Global Partnerships and Philanthropy, GPPS consists of functional specialists across a variety of high-value fundraising support functions providing all elements of cultivation, support and stewardship to high value donors, partners, and supporters, comprising three pillars: Research, Partner Engagement & Corporate Affairs, and Program Services. Program Services is anticipated to become GPPS’ largest sub-pillar and is vested at the nexus of HV fundraising and our operations and programs in the field. This pillar comprises of proposal, proposition and reporting development services, field experiences, and program services and field capacity.
The IRC has a new exciting opportunity within the Program Services team, where you would be part of a team critical to the advancement of our aspirational high-value (HV) goals and vision. As part of this team, you will develop funding and support propositions and impact reports to strengthen the HV teams and to maximize IRC's global fundraising and partnerships efforts. By becoming immersed in IRC's programs, team members can translate that content into compelling donor-friendly language, and individual and blended proposals for financial and non-financial support for IRC’s work.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Donor Propositions, the Manager, Program Content will be responsible for supporting the development, collection and implementation of funding opportunities that connect donors with IRC’s global programs, raising awareness of IRC’s work. The role will provide oversight and support to the management of content within the GPPS resource hub, a new feature meant to support all aspects of fundraising by informing the team through its 500+ documents and assets. The Program Content Manager will collate information from the field and support in the creation and implementation of the speedy review, edits, and upload of resources on program funding options for global high value fundraisers’ easy access. In collaboration with the Director, Program Services, this role will additionally participate in discussions with internal leadership across programs, research, and strategy teams to align on process and cadence to review funding priorities, informing changes based on fundraiser feedback, revenue results and organizational needs.
•Manage receipt and coordination of program funding needs via your own colleagues working in some of our regional offices, or through existing databases
•Ensure that high value teams have the complete set of information needed to be viable for private sector fundraising, and upload search tag content to show up in a fundraiser facing platform with key areas of donor interests highlighted
•Promote the use of the GPPS resource hub: ensure it is reviewed regularly by ER high-value fundraising teams, and supervise internal usage metrics (logins, etc.) to monitor its use and if needed, recommend ways to increase uptake/usage
•Monitor the use of funding materials and provide regular reports to a defined set of key partners
•Work with Donor Engagement colleagues to help promote program areas at relevant points in the year
•Craft light touch orientation materials and 1:1 support for fundraisers who are unsure of how to use these materials
•Monitor the status of funding opportunities to keep the hub up to date
•Monitor performance of the application and, on rare occasions, flag to the appropriate IRC IT teams when there are bugs relating to the key integrations
•Hold periodic trainings where requested; onboard new “admin” and “manager” users on an ad-hoc basis
