Youth Program Intern
The vision of the IRC Seattle Youth Program is that refugee youth will have the skills and resources necessary to pursue a future of opportunity. You can help newly-arrived refugee youth catch up on their education as a Youth Summer School Intern! The IRC in Seattle’s Youth Summer School Program is a summer program for refugee students, grades K through 12. Under the direction of the IRC Senior Youth Program Coordinator and Youth Program staff, interns will coordinate and facilitate activities that focus on learning English and Math, building social and emotional skills, and having fun in the school and local community through field trips and outdoor activities. Additionally, interns may assist with school enrollment and parent workshops. This internship may be of particular interest to someone studying education or TESOL. Currently, this will be a virtual internship with the potential for an in-person/virtual hybrid model this summer. A return to any in-person services will be dependent the guidance of local public health officials, organizational policy, and school districts – and will be on a case-by-case basis for interns and students.
