Background:

The External Relations (ER) department was created in early 2020 and is comprised of 3 main but complementary functional areas: Private fundraising, Communications and Advocacy. The department is in the beginning stages of building a new ambitious strategy that will improve IRC’s ability to ‘punch above its weight’ in private income, advocacy, and brand awareness.

Supporting this endeavor, and an integral part of ER, is the Global Partnerships and Philanthropic Services (GPPS) Unit. Reporting into the VP Global Partnerships and Philanthropy, GPPS consists of functional specialists across a variety of high-value fundraising support functions providing all elements of cultivation, support and stewardship to high value donors, partners, and supporters, comprising three pillars: Research, Partner Engagement & Corporate Affairs, and Program Services. Program Services is anticipated to become GPPS’ largest sub-pillar and is vested at the nexus of HV fundraising and our operations and programs in the field. This pillar comprises of proposal, proposition and reporting development services, field experiences, and program services and field capacity.

The IRC has a new exciting opportunity within the Program Services team, where you would be part of a team critical to the advancement of our aspirational high-value (HV) goals and vision. As part of this team, you will develop funding and support propositions and impact reports to strengthen the HV teams and to maximize IRC's global fundraising and partnerships efforts. By becoming immersed in IRC's programs, team members can translate that content into compelling donor-friendly language, and individual and blended proposals for financial and non-financial support for IRC’s work.

 

Job Overview:

Reporting to the Officer of Field Experiences, the Manager, Field Experiences will be responsible for managing a portfolio of in-person and virtual program visits for IRC’s HV fundraising teams, the board engagement team and the president’s office. This role will work in partnership with IRC’s external relations and program teams to identify and develop engagement opportunities for donors demonstrating the impact of their support in support of our fundraising objectives for the two HV teams.

Major Responsibilities:

•In collaboration with key stakeholders, create thematic field experience engagement opportunities.

Coordinate with HV fundraising teams to identify funding priorities to highlight in line with organizational strategy (funding priorities) and the fundraising strategy of the teams.

Partner with program staff to identify applicable destinations and develop sample itineraries.

Support fundraisers and partners with all travel arrangements (as necessary) including, but not limited to,

Arranging flights and hotel accommodations

Supporting visa applications process

Preparing professional travel packets

Collecting stakeholder feedback

Prepare post-trip reports.

•Support in the development of field experience elements for workshops and conferences

•Support in the development of field experience opportunities for partners’ employee engagement programs

•In collaboration with key partners, develop the following digital materials geared toward donors and prospects:

Presentation decks for virtual engagements

Webinar videos

Creative promotional and marketing materials

Proposals

Funding Reports

Post-trip Reports

Donor Briefings

Job Requirements:

Education:Bachelor's degree minimum, advanced degree is a plus

Work Experience:2-3 years of conference and meetings planning experience or related field.Experience managing high level delegations is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

•Outstanding verbal and written communication skills;

•Detail orientated, effective organizational and time-management skills;

•Ability to adapt quickly, plan for, prioritize and manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team;

•Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, vendors, and consultants;

•Sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality of donor information;

•Solid digital literacy: ability to work effectively and accurately with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Knowledge of event and customer relationship management software. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.

•Must be enthusiastic, creative and collaborative.

•Must have a passion for the IRC’s mission and commitment to fundraising, constituent stewardship and cultivation.

Language Skills:Excellent spoken and written English is essential. Proficiency in either French, Spanish or Arabic is a plus.

Working Environment:Standard Working Environment. Remote Working may be required.
