The Youth Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and implementing the Refugee Youth Mentorship Program (RYMP). The RYMP is a year round program focused on equipping newly arrived (within 5 years) high school students in the Dallas area school system with the skills needed to succeed in their new academic setting.Up to 60 students between the ages of 15 and 20 are enrolled each year and receive one-on-one case management from Master of Social Work students that will be under the supervision of the Youth Services Coordinator.The Youth Services Coordinator will report to the Education & Learning Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to train, manage, and oversee Academic Coaches.

•Hold weekly supervision of Academic Coaches alternating between one-on-one and group

•Monitor Academic Coaches case notes, files, service plans, and progress with students

•Assist in the recruitment and enrollment of new students, as well as the assignment of new cases to academic coaches.

•Actively participate in monthly Youth Communities of Practice calls.

•Act as a liaison between Dallas / Richardson area school districts and the IRC in Dallas.

•Coordinate monthly Saturday Learning Series events in order to provide students with opportunities to grow academically, civically, and socially.

•Support Grants Coordinator with data to apply for the new sources of funding and develop community partnerships to further support youth programming.

•Ensure compliance with requirements of the program, including IRC policies and procedures, donor guidelines, and relevant federal and state regulations

REQUIREMENTS:

•Undergraduate degree in the educational field or social work preferred

•At least two years of experience working in youth development or in an educational setting preferred

•Program and people management experience

•Creativity and initiative to independently lead projects

•Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to lead workshops for groups of students

•Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Google Classrooms

•Comfortable accompanying youth program staff on home visits

•Ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

•Cultural sensitivity/ excellent cross cultural communication skills

•Proficiency in Burmese, Kiswahili, Arabic, Dari, Kinyarwanda, or other relevant languages highly desirable
