Summary:
The
International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian

strengthen their communities. The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975
and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi,
Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.
Job
Overview/Summary:
IRC
provides primary health care and environmental health services in several
refugee camps in Thailand. IRC provides preventive and curative health care
services in the camps, including primary health care, reproductive health,
neonatal care and health education. Clinical services include out-patient
department (OPD) and in-patient department (IPD) care; laboratories supporting
IPD/OPD and reproductive health clinics; pharmacy services for essential drugs;
community health education, and mental health care. Environmental health services
aim to create a healthy living environment for refugees living in the camps
through the provision of quality water and sanitation facilities, leading
efforts to improve access to chlorinated water, sanitation, and hygiene in the
camps.
The
Regional Artemisinin-resistance Initiative (RAI) has been expanded with a third
phase, the RAI3Elimination (RAI3E) program, to accelerate elimination of P.
falciparum malaria in the Greater Mekong Subregion. Building on the current
progress, the objectives under RAI3E are to achieve high coverage of key
interventions using area-based microstratification and targeting the A1 and A2
areas with the aim to eliminate local transmission of Plasmodium falciparum
(Pf) cases by 2023 and all malaria by 2024. Additional focus will be placed on
active Pf foci and in high burden provinces which accounts for most of the
malaria cases to accelerate elimination efforts, as well as nine temporary
shelters on the Thailand-Myanmar borders. IRC Thailand is expected to implement
RAI3E in the temporary shelters.
Under
the direct supervision of the Malaria Senior Project Manager, the Malaria Data
Information Manager will ensure that malaria related data from the nine
temporary shelters are organized, and that data are accurate, validated and collected
on a timely basis for programmatic purposes and that data are stored, managed
and analyzed correctly, and reported as part of Thailand National Malaria
Information System (MIS).
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop Malaria monitoring and evaluation system to support project implementation and reporting in the nine refugee camps.
- Ensure that malaria data meet the quality required for the project and are of the right type and quantity to be able to actually support their intended use.
- Collect and track data based on the performance framework.
- Work closely with IT staff of the Division of Vector Borne Disease, Ministry of Public Health to learn and master the knowledge and skills on all information modules, data entry and data management such as case management and vector control required for reporting malaria related information for uploading into the DVBD malaria information system data base.
- Provide training to relevant program staff and camp-based stipend workers in all nine temporary shelters on all information modules including data entry and data management so that accurate malaria data are reported into the MIS.
- Ensure the integrity, confidentiality and security of all datasets.
Conduct data verification and data quality assessment for data collected for the project per the frequency stated in the project document. - Provide guidance in identifying and defining data requirements.
- Provide regular supervision to relevant workers and detect errors and work with relevant staff to ensure timely accurate reporting of require data.
- Support the preparation of high quality, analytical reports and support program activity reporting and synthesize across sites on a regular basis in accordance with expected results.
- Ensure client feedback are regularly captured through feedback logbook and updated in feedback registry.
Document, disseminate and apply good practices and lessons learnt in the program review meetings. - Assist in implementation of the different internal surveys, research, and evaluations.
- Coordinate with IRC M&E Manager and Health Information System (HIS) data management team in making sure that Malaria related data are reported in the HIS as necessary.
