Online Learning Specialist

The mission of the Talent Management team is to take the IRC’s people to the next level. The team is responsible for improving the productivity of IRC staff by providing tools, processes, and guidance for effective performance management, onboarding and orientation, staff and leadership development, and quality individual and team learning.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Talent Management, the Online Learning Specialist is responsible for managing a variety of online self-directed and blended learning programs for IRC staff around the world. You will work closely with the LMS Administrator to ensure staff have smooth and easy access to online learning opportunities. You will also collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts and regional/country focal points on the planning and delivery of online learning programs, and will identify new online learning opportunities to be added to IRC’s offerings.

 

Major Responsibilities:

Project Management

•Draft and maintain work plans for online learning projects and programs.

•Collaborate closely with subject matter experts and HQ, regional and local HR community to support and execute learning program planning and implementation, including managing nominations/enrollment processes and evaluation processes.

Communication

•Produce high-quality promotional material – written information, videos, and presentations – for new or upcoming online learning programs and communicate across all available/applicable channels.

•Partner with the LMS Administrator to produce quarterly online learning reports for organization, regional and country use.

•Co-manage the organization’s mailbox receiving learning inquiries and platform support requests. Coordinate with the LMS Administrator to respond to learner questions.

•Communicate with learners about program opportunities and application processes, answer questions, and initiate program reminders and participation surveys.

•Update and maintain internal web pages related to learning offerings.

Facilitation & Program Delivery

•Manage the end-to-end program application/nomination process for online and blended learning programs.

•Prepare and conduct webinars, orientations, manager overviews, drop-in sessions, and other online events.

•Monitor progress of program participants to maximize program completion rates, intervening where needed.

•Serve as producer for occasional online training sessions – manage Zoom rooms, chats, polls, and generally support the main facilitator.

•Identify learning gaps in current offerings and work with LMS Administrator, internal subject matter experts, and/or external partners to fill gaps.

•Curate online learning pathways on a variety of topics and promote to the IRC community.

•Identify new online learning opportunities via existing or potential learning partners and collaborate with colleagues as needed to secure opportunities.

•Collaborate with in-house and external instructional designers, trainers and content experts to identify, develop and implement customized online learning solutions.

Job Requirements:

•Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

•Work Experience: 5+ years

•Experience working with a learning management system

•Experience managing and facilitating online learning programs, including self-directed and blended learning

•Knowledge of instructional design and eLearning authoring tools a plus

•Demonstrated skills and competencies:

•Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills

•Detail-oriented and self-directed

•Able to prioritize multiple tasks and projects

•Ability to interact within a multi-cultural environment and with all levels of the organization

•Willingness to work collaboratively with other team members

Language Skills:Fluency in English required. Proficiency in French, Spanish or Arabic a plus

Technical skills:

•High proficiency with Zoom, Teams and/or other distance learning tools

•High proficiency with Microsoft office suite, especially Word and PowerPoint

•Proficiency with LMS tools, particularly Moodle

•Proficiency in eLearning tools such as Articulate 360 a plus
