Background:
The IRC is an international non-profit that responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping people survive and rebuild their lives, leading the way from harm to home. Since the Boise office opened in 2006, IRC Boise has resettled over 3,600 refugees and asylees, and provided aid to the broader Boise community.
Scope of work:
The IRC Boise’s Development Department ensures that Boise office has the resources necessary for the effective operation of programs. Development responsibilities include fundraising (grant writing, annual appeals, events), the acquisition and distribution of donated goods, volunteer programs, advocacy, and communications.
Project Description:
Health & Wellness Casework Intern will work closely with IRC Medical Caseworker to assist clients with their health care needs. This may include appointments and transportation coordination, case notes submission, management of medical spreadsheets, follow up call for medical appointments, advocacy.
Essential Position Functions:
Intern training and orientation
Medical case notes in ETO and SRIS
Schedule medical transportation
Possible driving for clients (Dependent on COVID-19)
Potential collection of signed paperwork
Maintaining and organizing medical files
Other assigned projects (Vary on day-to-day basis)
