Implemented by the IRC, the Cultural Orientation Resource Exchange (CORE) is a technical assistance program that connects and supports refugee resettlement staff globally to deliver effective Cultural Orientation (CO) which helps refugees achieve self-sufficiency in the United States. As part of this work, CORE hosts and manages the CORE website, a learning platform, the Resettlement Navigator website, and the Settle In mobile app. CORE is funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.

The Digital Content Manager will report to CORE’s Deputy Director and work in coordination with other CORE staff in support of CORE’s digital assets and platforms. More specifically, this individual will assist in back-end content management, routine digital analytic reporting, and user testing.

Major Responsibilities:

•Manage content on CORE’s digital channels (excluding learning platform) using WordPress content management systems and other relevant software;

•With support from Deputy Director and in collaboration with other CORE staff, assist with implementing user testing and other assessments of CORE digital platforms, including updating Standard Operating Procedures and working with Refugee Advisory Council;

•Support Digital Communications Officer and Refugee Information Officer in implementing digital platform strategies, including conducting research on digital platform best practices and implementing updates based on user testing and other collected feedback;

•Conduct quality assurance of CORE’s digital platforms when uploading new content or during other related updates;

•Support evaluation of digital analytics, including submitting routine reports and making recommendations to increase traffic to and use of CORE’s digital resources;

•Manage and maintain CORE’s internal file system of resources, including a consistent tagging and search system, in alignment with established standard operating procedures;

•Assist, as needed, in developing content for websites and newsletter, including written and video-based content that is designed to reach and engage both CO providers and refugees;

•Collaborate with other CORE staff to ensure maximum visibility and integration of all new CORE resources;

•Represent CORE at meetings, internal and external workshops and conferences, and other events, as needed;

•Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

•Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, library science, multimedia journalism, communications, or a related field required;

•Minimum 1-3 years progressive work experience;

•Experience with WordPress website content management and familiarity with HTML required, preference for experience managing websites in multiple languages;

•Knowledge of and experience using digital analytics tools (Google Analytics) and SEO, creating social media or newsletter content, and managing content in mobile apps strongly preferred;

•Excellent written and oral communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and partners;

•Solid organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines;

•Detail orientated and self-directed;

•Solid computer skills: facility with Microsoft Office, email/internet, and audio/video editing software

•Strong commitment to social service or humanitarian assistance programs and willingness to adhere to IRC’s code of conduct;

•Demonstrated knowledge of the US Refugee Admissions Program and Cultural Orientation programs preferred;

•The ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.

Working Environment:Standard office work environment. Open to remote work options. CORE team currently based in Silver Spring, Maryland.
