Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Human Resources Officer.

About the Job

Under the direct supervision of Human Resources Manager, provide Human Resources support for effective functioning of the department. Assist in recruitment, onboarding and development of DRC’s personnel. This includes attracting talent, conducting recruitments, onboarding, managing employee contracts and ensuring staff well-being and development activities are implemented as per DRC’s policies and procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

General Human Resources tasks

  • Advise and assist management and employees in Human Resources related issues and concerns.
  • Review Human Resources processes and suggests improvements to HR Management

Recruitment

  • Implement recruitment policies, procedures and tools to ensure an equitable, fair, transparent, efficient and accountable recruitment process across all DRC offices in the country;
  • Provide expertise to the staff involved in recruitment process on carrying out the process properly with the aim of recruiting professionals and people with potentials to be developed.
  • Update and share the recruitment tracker on weekly basis with the management and all staff
  • Suggest amendments/changes wherever needed in the Recruitment Guidelines to HR Manager.

Staff Induction/onboarding

  • Ensure implementation of staff induction and onboarding for all newly recruited/arrived staff;
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that pre-established briefings for newly recruited/arrived staff are properly done in due time;
  • Ensure that all newly recruited/arrived staff receive a briefing agenda upon recruitment/arrival and that they are properly briefed and receive all the due information according to the established procedures & standard briefing content;
  • Assist in inducting training on Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Conflict of Interest and other policies. as needed;
  • Monitor the quality and impact of briefing and induction processes, collect data and suggest improvements to HR manager;
  • Ensure the record of each new employee is registered in DRC Dynamics system.
  • Update the staff information in DRC Dynamics system in timely manner.

Staff Well-being, Training and Development

  • Contribute to development and implementation of a training policy to respond to the needs identified among the staff.
  • Contribute to the identification of training options at local level.
  • Support to all managers on implementing Performance evaluation systems (tools, methods, setting up of objectives, action plan follow ups and best practices);
  • Ensure all performance appraisals are submitted on timely basis; tracked and filed in the respective personnel files.
  • Ensure implementation of well-being plan; plan and conduct staff well-bring activities in coordination with the staff wellbeing committee activities
  • Focal point for HR Newsletter: initiate, prepare and circulate the newsletter to all staff. Suggest improvements and changes to the HR Manager.

Personnel files

  • Ensure an efficient filing system (physical and electronic files) of all administrative files, ensuring strict confidentiality of employees’ personal files and other administrative private documents.
  • Ensure that all national staff have an up-to-date relevant job description.

Other

  • Any other task assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have a university degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or Social Science Degree specializing in Human Resources or equivalent professional qualification

Moreover, we also expect the following:

 

Required qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant experience in Human Resources management, administration, change management, and/or organizational development
  • (I)NGO experience is preferred
  • Knowledge about Labor Law and legal regulations in Turkey
  • Understanding about payroll processing
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using an online system for recruitments
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Fluency in local language: Turkish

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals.
