About the job

The Regional HR Manager’s overall purpose is to provide professional guidance and support to senior management and DRC’s country operations within the North Africa Region in order to ensure that people-related strategies, practices and policies are contextualized, implemented and complied with across the region. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Regular coordination with country HR counterparts to ensure alignment; continuously assess whether countries are receiving adequate support from the Regional Office
  • Coordinate and lead on cross-regional policy development within HR-related matters
  • Ensure proper roll-out of and compliance with global HR policies
  • Provide advice and guidance to HR and senior management on organizational structures, in particular for HR units
  • Lead the continued implementation and capacity-building related to DRC Dynamics (HR system)
  • Develop learning & development plans for HR staff across the region, while advising on how to address capacity gaps
  • Provide guidance and support with reviews of compensation and benefit packages
  • Contribute and provide input to key strategic decisions and major policy development
  • Overall responsible for workforce analytics and analyses across the region
  • Take the lead on management & leadership development, including the People Management Training
  • Develop, implement and lead initiatives related to wellbeing, inclusion & diversity across the region
  • Support in the recruitment of key positions within the regional office
  • Support senior management in Code of Conduct framework and implementation.
  • Continuously assess and improve workflows, processes and practices to ensure professional and efficient support to managers and employees
  • Develop a participative culture and team spirit within the HR department

 

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to be results oriented and enthusiastic about supporting the operation in the area of Human Resource functions. Having proven experience of 5 years or more in similar or comparable role. Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge/experience of Human Resources Management principles, concepts & processes
Ability to interpret and implement local labor laws in DRC internal policies. Moreover, we also expect the following: 

Required 

  • University degree in HR, Business Administration or related area. 
  • 5 years proven experience in Senior HR role in I/NGO setting.
  • Excellent skills in handling and advising on complex people management issues
  • Experience in developing Human Resources strategies and policies
  • Experience using advanced HR systems
  • Experience in Compensation & Benefits, including salary scale development    
  • Fluency in English language. Advance Working level in French and Arabic.
  • Advance user of Microsoft application (Word, Excel, powerpoint) 

Desirable

  • Working experience/knowelge of ERP systems
  • Experience in large scale operation or Region

Contract length: 12 months (with possibility to extend)

Start date: 1st August 2021
