Background
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the driver is fully responsible for fulfilling the following functions following UNDP corporate rules and procedures:
- Drive his/her own vehicle for the transportation of authorized personnel, including international experts, and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items, between the office and other offices and institutions, e.g. Ministries, UN agencies, and other relevant stakeholders;
- Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip;
- Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road construction, as needed;
- Meet official personnel at the airport and make errands for the project as required;
- Be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the owned vehicle (checks oil, water, buttery, brakes, tires, etc.);
- Purchase of petrol and other expendable at own expense;
- Perform all necessary repairs and arranges for other repairs at his/her own expense;
- Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean; log trips, daily mileage, fuel/gas consumption, oil changes, greasing;
- Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken promptly in case of involvement in an accident. Full respect of local laws and traffic rules;
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Project Manager.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Certificate of completion of secondary school or equivalent is required;
- A valid driving license is required (category B).
Experience:
- At least 5 years of work experience as a driver is required;
- Safe driving record, knowledge of driving rules, regulations, and skills in minor vehicle repair;
- Knowledge of Tashkent city is a must and orientation within regions of Uzbekistan (Bukhara, Khorezm and Karakalpakstan) is an added advantage;
- Knowledge of mechanics is an added advantage.
Languages:
- Proficiency in Russian and Uzbek. Basic English is an asset.
Others:
- Must have privately owned vehicle (Chevrolet Lacetti, Nexia-3, Cobalt, Malibu, Captiva or equivalent with date of production of not earlier than January 2018);
- Safe driving record;
- Valid insurance policy covering legal liability to the third parties and accidents with drivers/passengers;
- Previous work for an international organization and companies would be considered an advantage.
