Overview of position

Administration

  • Translating, compiling, archiving and disseminating of all Weekly Work plan.
  • Set up meetings with national authorities on weekly basis.
Interpreting
  • Provide high quality consecutive simultaneous interpretation into Arabic/English and/or from English into Arabic during all meetings with Iraqi counterparts, press conferences, our client's Iraq events and workshops.
  • Produce meeting notes and minute.
Translation
  • Provide timely translations from Arabic to English and vice versa, in line with United Nations standards and of various types of documents covering a broad range of topics.
  • Provide quality control overview of the documents translated by other Liaison Officers/Interpreters within our client in Iraq.

Communications
  • Build and/or consolidate relationships with key stakeholders needed to disseminate information.
  • Produce correspondence with Iraqi counterparts.
  • Arrange meetings, workshops, and other events in partnership with our client's Government counterparts.
  • Prepare talking points, briefing notes, summary notes and minutes.
  • Establishment/maintenance of all hard and soft copy documents, reference materials and confidential records as  required, and evaluation of information for retention or disposal;
  • Provision of all other related administrative and substantive support for visitors, when  required;                                                                                                                                       
List of Exact Functional Responsibilities
  • Maintain updated documentation related to the internal management of the office, such as but not limited to activities and Tracker/leaves planner.
  • Ensure the administrative organization of conferences and meetings; take notes and produce meeting minutes;
  • Assist with the interpreting and translation for the office.
  • Support in the coordination of operational activities between (local, governmental, non-governmental and international organizations).
  • Assist the coordination of logistical planning in preparation arrangement for donors and stakeholders field visits to the clearance sites.
  • Assist in procurement planning for the Office.
  • Support in drafting plans, reports and related documents as required to support the activities.
  • Conduct of field visits in support to UN Agencies and Partners.
  • Assist with routine and administrative duties at the duty station.
  • Other duties as instructed by supervisor.
