Scope of Work:

The financial coach and job readiness specialist is a key member of the economic empowerment team, providing services to humanitarian immigrant clients who are enrolled in IRC’s entry level employment or career development program. Financial counseling and coaching involve an ability to engage and motivate clients, a strong understanding of personal finances and credit, and the ability to teach that knowledge to others. The financial coach and job readiness training specialist is responsible for assisting clients in developing plans of action that are intended to help them reach their goals and achieve financial stability. The specialist will also coordinate and provide some instruction for job readiness training sessions.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Financial Coaching(approximately 60%)

·Provide individual financial coaching to clients through activities such as completing a detailed financial assessment, documenting a budget and providing strategies for budget improvements, and providing strategies for   credit building.

·Develop plans of action and provide tools and resources while promoting client accountability to help clients meet their goals, in collaboration with the economic empowerment and case management teams.

·Administer consumer loan program and ensure all applications (credit building and auto) have been compiled and submitted in a timely manner.

·Record outcomes within ETO database and satisfy related reporting requirements in alignment with funder objectives.Capture client success stories.

·May provide financial coaching in small orientation sessions in addition to individual sessions.

Job Readiness Training and Workshop Coordination(approximately 40%)

·Coordinate outreach and enrollment for weekly job readiness and advanced   job readiness classes for IRC clients.

·In collaboration with colleagues, coordinate additional training or outreach opportunities and workshops. Assess current curriculum and modify as needed.

·Teach job readiness or other small group classes on a rotating basis with the economic empowerment team.
