The External Relations Department (“ER”) is comprised of Policy & Advocacy, Fundraising, Board Management, Business Operations, and Marketing & Mobilization. ER mobilizes external audiences to raise the requisite funds, influence policies and achieve practice changes to improve outcomes for our clients, while growing and protecting our global brand. ER’s Strategic Initiatives and Delivery team promote an agenda of innovation and is focused on ensuring that each team is results and data-driven, strategically aligned, and designs and delivers right fit services to the IRC’s country programs and Resettlement and Integration offices. In this context, the DEI Associate Project Manager’s primary responsibility is to provide high quality, core project management support to the organization in executing against an ambitious Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) agenda by coordinating, communicating, and facilitating projects across all ER departments. A critical part of the role is operating as the pro-active, cross-functional leader among peers across the complex ER organization.

Major Responsibilities:

Facilitation and Planning:

•Develop and implement governance, timeline and roadmap for ER DEI ambitions using inclusive processes and values, together with ER DEI leads.

•Ensure ongoing integration between ER DEI activities and broader organization strategy and initiatives.

•As needed, support workstream leads, up to including facilitation workshops and planning meetings.

•Ensure that work proceeds on a timely basis through routine review of progress and mechanisms to hold relevant staff accountable for deliverables and timelines

Communication and accountability:

•Meet with ER Vice Presidents monthly to gain alignment, seek approvals where relevant and provide comprehensive DEI updates against DEI action plans.

•Provide weekly updates to ER DEI stakeholders on the progress of workstream leads on DEI.

•Provide monthly update on DEI to all ER staff through ER newsletter.

•Have regular meetings with IRC Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team and DEI Council to ensure tight collaboration with IRC’s overarching DEI agenda.

•Provide content, including status updates, to relevant internal and external communications counterparts to fulfill donor requests for information.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Work Experience:

•Minimum:3 years of full-time professional work experience, with approximately 2 year of experience working as Project Manager

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

Minimum:

•Ability to communicate and collaborate with tact and diplomacy, both orally and in writing

•Excellent project management skills and an ability to anticipate and mitigate risks

•Experience working on Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion initiatives

•Service-orientation and flexibility, dedication to help and support in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment

•Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, ability to maintain positive working relationships at all organizational levels

•Demonstrated interest in the humanitarian sector and the IRC’s mission

•Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

Language Skills: English (fluent); French, Spanish, or Arabic is a plus

Working Environment:

This role requires working remotely full or part time (i.e., telecommuting). Applicants will need a home or alternate workspace where they can effectively complete their work during regularly scheduled hours.
