BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Following growing demand for processed and specialized nutrition products, increased interest amongst WFP Country Offices and host governments, private sector funding and food quality identified as a corporate risk, the role of the Food Quality and Safety (OSCQ) unit is evolving. At the same time, under the newly formed Supply Chain Division, WFP is strengthening its food quality and safety management by transitioning from end – product testing to quality assurance. This is done through enhanced product specifications, supplier audits and development of effective incident management systems amongst other initiatives. With evolving needs of OSCQ Unit, technical as well as support staff are required to keep step with the growing workload.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage suppliers audit execution - Focal point for liaison with WFP Country Offices, WFP suppliers, service providers; Manage Purchase Orders, Review invoices and quotations from the service provider against contractual agreements; Liaise with WFP Finance to ensure timely payments, and maintain a tracking sheet where needed; Receive, review and disseminate audit reports as required; Maintain the audit dashboard with key strategic inputs onto the food safety and quality risk matrix
- Support the team in following work streams: Implementation and oversight of the IT FSQ solution; Audit planning, streamlining the audit process and post audit activities – provide inputs for the documentation and process development; Data management of Early Release requests – create and keep updated database with key KPI’s related with early release requests; Data management related with incidents – update and manage data related with Incident management.; Supplier performance monitoring
- Provide inputs for development of audit process, audit tools (check lists, technical expectations, risk matrix) and procedures.
- Other duties as necessary
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
Manage execution of audits as per audit plan, schedule and budget
Provide support to FSQ team on different workstreams
Other as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
University degree in Food Safety and Quality or other field relevant to the required tasks above
Experience:
1-2 years
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated organizational capability
Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook)
IT Systems acquaintance preferred
Languages:
Fluency in English language
