The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing the Community Sponsorship and Volunteer programs at the IRC in Boise. The coordinator will collaborate with IRC staff to determine volunteer, intern, mentor, and AmeriCorps needs and provide the needed support to execute all volunteer and sponsorship programs, including developing trauma-informed training materials to best prepare all volunteers for their work with refugees, asylees and victims of human trafficking.  
Major Responsibilities
Volunteer Coordination
Overall
•Ensure the IRC maintains an active, effective, professionally managed volunteer program.
•Recruit and manage needs for volunteers, interns, mentorship programs, AmeriCorps/ Jesuit Volunteer Corps, and any other volunteers.
Recruitment and Management 
•Liaise actively with program managers and other staff members on volunteer and intern opportunities for their respective programs. Ensure assignment descriptions align with staff and client needs and are consistently formatted and posted. 
•Recruit, onboard, and provide exit management for all volunteers and interns. 
•Coordinate orientation sessions, training, and ongoing support for all accepted volunteers.
•Train new volunteers and interns on how to log their work hours through Salesforce. 
•Track and report all volunteer hours monthly using IRC’s financial support system, Integra.
•Conduct outreach activities around a regular recruitment cycles for all volunteers and interns (at minimum fall, spring, summer) and manage office-wide application and interview process. 
•Conduct regular information sessions for potential volunteers and interpreters.
•Maintain relationships with local colleges, mentorship programs and other community groups for potential volunteers. 
Support to Active Volunteers 
•Maintain regular communication and act as a liaison between IRC staff, volunteers and interpreters.
•Maintain volunteer files and centralized volunteer resources. 
•Conduct recognition events for volunteers and interpreters. 
•Actively participate in the Volunteer Coordination Community of Practice. 
Job Requirements
Experience: 
•Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college preferred.
•Lived experience as an immigrant or refugee preferred.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies 
•Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
•Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
•Ability to prioritize and to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
•Well organized with attention to detail.
•Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural setting.
•Self-direction and initiative, when needed, to take the lead and to follow through to completion.
Language Skills: Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Second language preferred.
Working Environment 
•Combination of remote and onsite work in a standard office environment. As the transition away from virtual, remote work evolves, fulltime onsite will be required. Some evening and weekend hours will be required. 
•Must have a valid driver’s license with legally required insurance.  Position will require using own transportation within service delivery area. Mileage reimbursement available.
