Documentation Officer
Location: New Delhi

In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and others.

Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Documentation Officer based at New Delhi for its USAID funded NISHTHA project for strengthening of comprehensive primary healthcare across 12 states. The position will contribute to the Documentation of NISHTHA project at Jhpiego India and reports to Senior Documentation and Knowledge Management Officer.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Senior Documentation and Knowledge Management Officer and Documentation Assistant to support and streamline NISHTHA’s documentation
• Support in ensuring timely reporting including weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and any other donor requirement
• Coordinate with the state program teams and collect relevant information to be documented as success stories, case studies, policy briefs
• Support in developing high quality documentation products such as case studies, lessons learnt, process documentation, policy and advocacy briefs for showcasing NISHTHA’s work
• Support in internal communications through ICO notes, Yammer (Internal Social media platform) and other methods
• Support in organizing key events of the project including dissemination events to showcase the work of NISHTHA among external stakeholders
• Coordinate and maintain the repository of all materials to enable cross learning and sharing
• Support in ideating and increasing the visibility of NISHTHA through regular twitter posts, twitter campaigns, ted talks and other new high visibility mediums
• Perform or assume other duties as assigned by the supervisor
• Support in building capacity of staff in writing and reporting
• Document progress and achievements for dissemination with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.

Abilities/Skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and a good knowledge of Hindi.
• Strong editing skills and ability to tailor documentation and communication materials for different audiences.
• Strong organizational skills to establish and maintain communications knowledge bank.
• High proficiency in MS Office (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), especially working with styles and templates.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate comfortably with varied audiences.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Ability to work with a diverse team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and adapt new things.
• Willingness to travel upto 20% of his/her time.
• An interest in Public Health.

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge

• Post-graduation in Journalism or Mass Communication.
• 5 years of relevant work experience in documentation, preferably in the not-for-profit sector in India.
• Advanced knowledge of grammar, usage, and editorial style and guidelines.
• Excellent writing skills and have previous experience in similar tasks or report writing and quality documentation
• Familiarity with the Indian public health system, newer initiatives in health sector and relevant government policies/ strategies particularly National Health Mission, and Ayushman Bharat
