Local Consultants: MHPSS Training Officer - 11 Months

The consultant that will assist the Adolescent Health/ HIV Specialist to implement strategies that will contribute to increased competency and self-efficacy of care providers (health, social workers, guidance counselors and teachers), chatline volunteers, influencers and adolescent leaders of Adolescent Friendly Health Facilities on MHPSS.

How can you make a difference

Work Assignments/Tasks

- Using adolescent MHPSS toolkit, WHO mhGAP, DOH-ADEPT and CWC video-based learning materials, develop training package for the following:
a. care providers
b. chatline volunteers
c. influencers/ celebrity
d. adolescent and youth leaders

- Conduct consultation review with experts and relevant stakeholders to finalize the training packages and tools
- Conduct training workshops using the approved training package for the:
a. Care providers
b. Chatline volunteers
c. Adolescent and youth leaders

- Maintain a record of feedback and comments from organizers, and training participants
- Organize joint providers virtual meet-up to identify bottlenecks and plan for coordinated service provision (jointly with CWC, DOH, National Center for Mental Health, and Philippine Red Cross)
- Lead the development of mentoring and coaching tools and conduct regular supportive supervision for chatline provides
- Conduct orientation/ engagement activities for influencers/ celebrity, in coordination with PFP and other partners
- Conduct follow through activities/ events for LGU health and social protection workers to increase MHPSS engagement, including but not limited to the celebration of International Youth Day and National Children’s Month
- Conduct post-training assessment to review individual action plans vis-à-vis the training package
- Provide orientation/ training workshops on MHPSS to UNICEF partners, on a case to case basis
- Enhance content of training packages based on the 6-month implementation of MHPSS

b. Chatline volunteers
c. Adolescent and youth leaders

- Influencers
- Maintain and update database care providers, chatline volunteers, influencers, adolescents and youth leaders

Deliverables

Qualifications and Competencies of Successful Consultant

• Bachelor's Degree on the following relevant academic background in policy development, social sciences, Leadership and Management and Human Resource Development and environment.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in social development planning and management in adolescent and youth development-related areas.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience in the field of training management and developing a training curriculum; experience in training of social workers and health care providers preferred.
• High level of ethical awareness, child protection lens, and integrity.
• Experience in provision of technical support and coordination with key national government agencies and other stakeholders; demonstrate experience in carrying out similar assignments.
•  
  With good computer skills, well-versed in online applications for webinars such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Meet, etc. is an asset.
•  
  Fluency in English both in oral and written communication, knowledge of relevant local language is an asset.
•  
  Previous experience working and coordinating with UNICEF, DOH and CWC highly desired.
   
• Ability to work efficiently and deliver committed outputs within agreed timelines and deadlines.
