The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is looking for a qualified International Intern to Support the implementation of the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health interventions at facility and community level to be based in our office in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is looking for a qualified International Intern to Support the implementation of the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health interventions at facility and community level to be based in our office in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

To assist the UNICEF country office implementation of the Health and Nutrition activities.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Under the supervision of the Maternal and Child Health Specialist and the Nutrition Manager, the intern will undertake the following tasks:

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Maternal and Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition activities.
  • Assist in the collection, analysis and revision of indicators, databases and tools for monitoring programme progress including the presentation of the maternal and child health and nutrition disaggregated data for the targeted districts and villages.

Results/Expected Outputs

  • Assist the maternal, newborn child health partners’ coordination, monitoring of activities and organization of events.
  • Data interpretation, reporting and presentation on the related M&E, including use of the routine health information systems.
  • Contribute to documentation of activities, and submit for office reporting, publications, social media/websites, newsletters.
  • Assist in weekly tasks that contribute to the outputs for maternal and child health and nutrition including attending virtual meetings, recording minutes and preparing reports.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

-Enrolled in a degree programme in an undergraduate or graduate school or be a recent graduate.

-Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

-Proficient in at least one of UNICEF’s working languages: English, French or Spanish and fluent in the working language of the office they are applying to.

-Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
