Context

We do this through our programmes, where we provide assistance to meet immediate humanitarian needs, prevent further displacement and contribute to durable solutions. At the root of our programmes are our solid technical expertise and specific sectorial knowledge aiming for the highest possible quality, whether in stand-alone or integrated approaches.

The Partnership and Policy Department brings together NRC work on advocacy and media, humanitarian policy, and institutional partnerships. The Department consists of the Institutional Partnership Section (Oslo), the Advocacy and Media Section (Oslo), the Humanitarian Policy Section (Geneva), and the representation offices: NRC Europe (Brussels), NRC Geneva (Geneva), NRC USA (Washington D.C.), NRC Flüchtlingshilfe Deutchland (Berlin), NRC UK (London), and the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre IDMC (Geneva). 

We are looking for two fantastic individuals to be part of our team based in Olso working as;

1. Institutional Partnerships Coordinator

What you will do

You will work in the Institutional Partnership Section (IPS) in the Partnerships and Policy Department (PnP). IPS is responsible for NRC’s strategic relations with institutional donors and is the “centre of excellence” on donor/partner relations in NRC, thereby providing support to all Departments, and Regional, Country and Representative Offices in the organisation. This includes being responsible for developing relevant global strategies for resource mobilisation; developing funding prospects with existing and new donors; further streamlining NRC’s procedures, processes and tools related to resource mobilisation and grant management; developing and providing internal training and help-desk support, etc.

What you will bring

  • University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably at master degree level;
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience from a humanitarian/development organisation and/or from a donor administration, either at Head Office/capital or field/embassy level;
  • Documented results within administration, and preferably also grants management and finance ;
  • Knowledge of Project Cycle Management, especially of the logical framework approach;
  • A conscientious and structured person with strong planning skills, including computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint);
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and service mindedness;
  • Fluency in English: excellent written skills are required;
  • Context related skills, knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position);
  • Prior experience with the following donors is desirable: the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA), Norad, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the Department for International Development (DFID), Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and other donors2

2. Strategy and Administration Coordinator, Partnerships and Policy Department

What you will do

You will be is responsible for ensuring efficient administration in the Partnerships and Policy Department and supporting strategic and organisational development processes. You will also be responsible for executing the day-to-day administration of the PnP Department on behalf of the Director and assist with administrative tasks in the Institutional Partnership Section and Advocacy and Media Section as needed.

What you will bring

  • University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably at master degree level;
  • Minimum 2 years of work with humanitarian work/NGOs
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal;
  • Experience from strategic development, planning and administration;
  • Excellent administrative skills, including the establishment of effective systems;
  • Understanding of monitoring and impact assessment;
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills in English (and preferably also Norwegian);
  • Proven interpersonal skills.
