Education Technical Assistant - Iraq Kirkuk

1.      Role and responsibilities

Generic responsibilities:

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Strict adherence to the NRC Code of Conduct
  • Implement the education project according to the plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents

Promote and share ideas for technical improvement

 

 Specific responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure the timely and accurate uploading of all data collected by Education staff onto the database
  • Oversee the operation of the database and data collection software, maintain updates and improvements as required
  • Provide technical support to relevant project staff and beneficiaries on data collection and analysis
  • Produce detailed, relevant and high quality qualitative and quantitative reports for both internal and external distribution
  • Conduct spot checks and verify data against project activities and actual targets
  • Provide quality control and oversight of the data that is being collected, identify and address errors in collection or input
  • Conduct regular trainings for Education staff to improve the quality of data collection and reporting
  • Support design of education assessments and surveys using data collection platforms (KOBO toolbox - Commcare and Mobenzi); clean and analyse data following assessment activities
  • Develop and adapt tools for registration and enrolment of beneficiaries

 

Any other relevant tasks assigned by the line manager

 

2.    Our Idea Candidate:

  • Experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context, at least one-year experience.
  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts; ability to remain calm and professional in tense situations
  • Documented results related to previous responsibilities
  • Solid English language skills as well as fluency in Arabic.
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work diligently both independently and in a team setting
  • Previous experience supervising teams

3.      Other information:

Contract Duration: 5 months 

Duty Station: Kirkuk- Iraq

Health Insurance is provided 

Salary: G4/S1, According to NRC’s Iraq salary scale and terms and conditions.
