Restructuring and Workout Analyst /Associate

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), the Restructuring and Workout Function of the Risk Management Department is responsible for AIIB’s distressed assets. It is tasked with implementing restructuring or recovery solutions that can best protect AIIB’s financial and reputational interests, while preserving the development impact of AIIB’s investments.  The successful candidate will assist and support the team in identifying and implementing suitable restructuring or recovery strategies. Their work will be mostly in the areas of client interaction and financial analysis as well as financial modelling and scenario analysis.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial statements; requires an understanding of relevant accounting standards; 
  • Conduct regular conversations with AIIB clients and other project counterparties to obtain operational and financial information and convey information to internal project team; Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
  • Develop financial models, validate reasonableness of assumptions, provide scenario analysis and stress testing to analyze business plans as well as restructuring and recovery strategies;
  • Conduct research on specific industries, business environments, regulatory and legal landscape and sectoral topics;
  • Support preparation of relevant documentation; and
  • Perform analytical and other tasks as needed by the Risk Management Department.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years (for Analyst) or 3-5 years (for Associate) of relevant work experience in the field of corporate/project finance gained at commercial/investment banks and/or multilateral/bilateral financial institutions;
  • Experience in restructuring and workout of debt instruments will be an advantage;
  • Financial, analytical and modeling as well as credit skills are essential;
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational abilities;
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin;
  • Highly motivated with an analytical mindset;
  • Bachelor’s degree with specialization in finance or related fields.
