Data Analyst

In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and others.

Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Data Analyst to be based at its Bhopal office. Data Analyst will support Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) department by communicating and coordinating on a daily basis with the project teams at field offices. This position requires experience in coordinating health data management with stakeholders, mainly national and state governments. S/he should be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines and have working knowledge of data analysis tools/ softwares. This is a fixed term position for two years and reports to Advisor, MERL Bhopal.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate timely collection, collation, compilation and dissemination of data pertaining to assigned projects.
• Support project field offices in data management.
• Verify accuracy of the data by performing periodic data quality checks; prepare and submit reports to the supervisor.
• Assist in data collection and conduct field visits for follow-up assessments as needed.
• Conduct/ support trainings of the data record reporters of the project facilities as needed.
• Develop and maintain database for capturing the project data and maintenance of queries and programs for analysis and related reports.
• Support supervisor in analyzing data, developing dashboards and generating relevant graphs and information.
• Develop relevant dashboards for data visualization purposes.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

• Good speed and accuracy in data entry.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Ability and willingness to travel within the state.

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge
• Post-graduate diploma in computer science (PGDCA) or Master’s degree in computer (MSc/ MCA etc. is essential
• Minimum five years of experience in compiling and analyzing Public Health Data at State/National level
• Working experience in development of Data Management Tools for Public Health Data is desired
• Working experience with government data portals (HMIS, AB-HWC portal etc.) is desirable
• Working experience of Advance Excel with Macro Programming is desirable
• Those with knowledge of Microsoft Access, Epicollect, DHIS or any other open source software will be preferred
• Knowledge of public health settings
