The Manager, Prospect Research & Management will directly impact IRC’s private fundraising efforts by supporting prospect pipeline development for the USA Philanthropy and International Philanthropy and Partnerships teams. The role focuses particular attention on facilitating the identification, research, and tracking of individual, corporate, and foundation prospects through the donor cycle. This role will support the continued development of moves management and prospect tracking systems and ensure that related processes and procedures are upheld. The Manager, Prospect Research will be responsible for collaborating with members of their team, other strategic partners, as well as fundraisers, to ensure research and key data on constituents is effectively maintained in the CRM and can be leveraged to meet IRC’s ambitious and strategic fundraising goals.

As a member of the Prospect Research & Management team, the Manager will participate in team-wide projects, which will include research, work to improve team functions and elevate the team’s role as strategic partners. Supervision and training of an intern may be required.

Major Responsibilities:

•Support prospect research efforts

oConduct biographical and financial research on constituents entering prospect pipelines, or in advance of meetings or events

oMaintain relevant constituent information in CRM, including biographical, philanthropic, and affiliation and relationship data from internal and external resources

oSupport development and systematic use of prospecting resources (internal data mining, external lists and publications, conferences/events, donor networks etc.)

•Participate in prospect management (PM) system

oManaging movement of prospects and donors in and out of portfolios and pipeline

oParticipate in moves management or portfolio review meetings

oCreate and maintain moves management and prospect tracking reports to monitor and measure related fundraising activities and enforce data integrity

oActively collaborate with researchers and fundraisers to ensure information accuracy

•Support team operations

oProvide input on, document and maintain best practices, guidelines and resources

oTake a lead role in the development of team’s workflow management using CRM

oPromote teams’ services to colleagues through guidance, trainings, and reports

oProactively seek and leverage utilize insights from fundraisers and other partners to identify improvements

oStay informed on institutional programs and develop external resources to monitor and track industry specific changes that are relevant to IRC’s mission

oSupport special projects such as electronic screening by vendors and news alerts system

oAdditional assignments as directed by supervisor

Job Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

•1-3 years’ work experience in prospect development in the non-profit fundraising field

•Proficiency with Salesforce or other relational CRM

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

•Experience with online research databases (LexisNexis, WealthX, RelSci, Foundation Center, iWave, etc.)

•Superb organization, detail orientation, and project management

•Abides by APRA Principles of Ethics and Compliance; membership in APRA is encouraged

Preferred Experience & Skills:

•Knowledge of prospect management and prospect tracking principles and methods

•Demonstrated aptitude for analyzing and interpreting data and for synthesizing complex information from multiple sources

•High proficiency in internet search engines and advanced search techniques

•Demonstrated ability to develop prospecting methodologies to support organizational goals, including data mining, sophisticated constituent database queries, etc.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

•Excited by challenges and opportunities for problem solving

•Ability to prioritize and deliver on time in a fast-paced environment, sometimes with limited guidance

•Flexibility and patience; proven shown ability to work productively effectively in team and independent environments, and the willingness to meet unexpected demands with positivity a positive attitude

•Prior experience working at an international organization outside the US not required but would be an asset

Working Environment:Requires remote/flex-time work.
