Background:

 

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine is looking for a Ukrainian professional for the position of Multimedia Assistant    in its Head Office in Kyiv. The OSCE is committed to achieving a better balance of women and men within the Organization.

Initial duration of assignment for this post is for a period of 12 months, with a possibility of extension, subject to a subsequent OSCE Permanent Council Decision to extend the mandate of the Mission.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The incumbent’s job is to provide high-level design, video editing and other creative, and administrative, services to the Press & Public Information Unit (PPIU), Senior Management and other units of the Mission. The Multimedia Assistant will design and edit outreach materials and digital products for the Mission (videos, photos, infographics, etc.); support Mission leadership and other units with audio-visual content; and create diversified social media content.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Press and Public Information Unit the Multimedia Assistant performs the following duties:
1.    Designing informational and visual products, including but not limited to leaflets, brochures, infographics, presentations, etc.;
2.    Assisting with the productions of diversified visual content such as banners and video clips for the SMM’s social media channels;
3.    Identifying, filing processing and compiling photo and video materials for press briefings, press statements, slideshows, presentations, etc.; 
4.    Performing editing of photo and video materials; 
5.    Creating and maintaining a picture library;
6.    Ensuring visual consistency of the SMM’s external products and aligns them with  the OSCE branding standards; 
7.    Providing assistance to other units and senior management by preparing and reviewing visual materials;
8.    Providing administrative support to PPIU, preparation of budgets and reporting on current budget expenditure, drafting purchase orders, assisting with  TORs, in particular drafting Terms of Reference or Technical Specifications on visual-related issues; 
9.    Performing other duties as required.

 

Necessary Qualifications:

•    Ukrainian citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Ukraine;
•    Secondary education; supplemented by formal studies or training in graphic design;
•    Minimum  4 years of relevant  work experience at national and/or international level in  graphic designer activities;
•    Established knowledge of relevant, but not limited to, graphic design/video editing software such as Illustrator/ CorelDraw/ Picasa/ Photoshop/ Final Cut PRO;
•    Portfolio with previous similar assignments performed (please provide a hyperlink in your Cover Letter);
•    Professional fluency in the English, Ukrainian and Russian languages, both oral and written;
•    Sound political judgement and the ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically with high level officials;
•    Demonstrated ability of performing administrative and budget related tasks; 
•    Organisational and planning skills; 
•    Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and in limited time frames;
•    Expected to work long hours when accompanying senior management on field visits and during periods of crisis communication;
•    Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
•    Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
•    Cultural sensitivity and judgment.

 

Remuneration Package:

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 1029.00 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
