IRC in Denver’s Economic Empowerment Program seeks to support clients’ immediate needs for stability, while ensuring that near-term demands do not overshadow longer-term economic health. As a key member and leader within the Economic Empowerment team, the Employment Services Coordinator spearheads efforts to support clients in obtaining early employment, and in some cases re-employment or job upgrades, using a strengths-based coaching approach that leverages client assets to promote their ability to move toward the future they envision for themselves and their families. The Employment Services Coordinator will lead a team of employment specialists providing early employment services and job placement services at the IRC in Denver through multiple programs including Matching Grant (MG), and under the Reach Program in partnership with the Colorado Refugee Services Program (CRSP). The Employment Services Coordinator will work closely with the Employment Specialists, Education Coordinator, Caseworkers, Casework Supervisors, Public Benefits team, Health team, and other colleagues to ensure smooth delivery of job readiness support and employment services, targeting first job placements within the initial 90-120 days of arrival. This position also provides support for services that assist clients with post-placement and job upgrades, as well as re-employment and unemployment assistance for clients who have lost jobs or experienced layoffs. 
Major responsibilities
Staff Supervision and Coordination
•Directly supervise day-to-day and larger level, strategic work of Employment Specialists.
•Provide leadership, mentoring, supervision, training, performance management, and related support to employment staff, interns and volunteers.
•Advise staff regarding issues pertinent to assessments, individual employment plans, job readiness trainings, and job placement and job follow-up activities.
•Manage weekly client assessment schedule and case assignments, share best practices, and contribute to program development, growth, and improvement.
•Provide direct services as needed to address immediate client needs, provide coverage for staff on leave, or meet temporary surges in demand for services.
Program Development and Management
•Facilitate business partner (employer) development through organizing targeted outreach, job fairs, and networking events.
•Analyze and interpret labor market trends and apply to program strategy to ensure placement in jobs that represent a diverse range of sectors and industries.
•In conjunction with the Economic Empowerment Manager, coordinate the MG and Reach employment programs, with specific attention towards meeting programmatic performance specifications and outcomes. 
•Participate in monthly review of cash assistance eligibility and payment issuance for MG, Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA), and relevant incentives and supportive services payments. 
•Monitor progress towards programmatic performance requirements and support the employment team in working toward these goals. 
Quality Assurance and Compliance
•Provide accurate and timely program reports, for both internal and external purposes, including data captured and recorded in the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) case management system and CRSP’s Geneva database for the Reach program.
•Conduct regular file reviews and support ongoing quality assurance for employment program case file documentation.
•Work with the Economic Empowerment Manager to establish necessary data collection systems.
Other
•Represent the employment team during meetings and lead in-service trainings.
•Work closely with the Casework Supervisors, Public Benefits Coordinator, Education Coordinator, Health Program Coordinator, and other relevant team members to promote smooth delivery of services across all service areas.
•Represent the IRC in Denver in meetings with colleague resettlement agencies, local departments of human services, and other area service providers and stakeholders. 
•Liaise with current and prospective donors and stakeholders including CRSP and IRC HQ.
•Attend conferences, seminars and meetings related to program activities.
•Other duties as assigned.
Key working relationships:
Position Reports to: Economic Empowerment Manager and works cross-functionally to coordinate client support across all internal teams and with external community partners. 
Position Directly Supervises: A team of 3-4 Employment Specialists, with indirect oversight of volunteers and interns assigned to the Employment Specialists for supervision.
 Job requirements
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work and lived experience required. 
•Minimum 2 years of experience finding employment for clients and coaching them through the nuances of seeking employment, either in domestic resettlement or closely related social service delivery, ideally focused on refugees and working across cultures and languages.
•Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required. Fluency in Arabic, Russian, Dari, French, Kiswahili, or other languages and cultures of the local refugee population is strongly preferred.
•Highly organized self-starter with demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities and delivering quantifiable results under pressure, with tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
•Proven team player with outstanding negotiation, interpersonal, professional presentation, and oral and written communication skills, especially in a multi-cultural environment.
•Must be mission and outcome driven, with a high level of energy, self-confidence, and commitment to client success.
•Knowledge of and familiarity with the Denver metro area job market, industries, and sectors.
•Ability to utilize a variety of technological tools proficiently including, at a minimum, web-based applications, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook. Familiarity with MS Teams, Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) and/or Salesforce a plus.
•Valid driver’s license, the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area and access to a vehicle required.  
Working environment:
•A combination of remote home-based work, standard office environment, and “field” time in and around the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
•Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required.
Note that COVID risk mitigation measures are currently in effect, with the IRC in Denver’s offices closed to the public. Most employees must be able to have a working space with internet access to accommodate remote work. IRC provides laptops and cell phones to its staff. Employees are required to follow strict COVID risk mitigation protocols in accordance with organizational policies, including but not limited to mask wearing, social distancing, enhanced hygiene practices, and self-isolating and quarantining when appropriate. 
Compensation and benefits:
This position is a full-time, regular, non-exempt position scheduled at 37.5 hours per week. Compensation starts at $25.00 per hour, with eligibility for overtime in accordance with state and federal laws. As a full-time regular employee, the Employment Services Coordinator is eligible for the IRC’s comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
