Function:
Programme & Policy covers Programme Implementation, Thematic Expertise (technical knowledge in areas of specialization), and Policy & Programme Impact (advocacy, research, monitoring & evaluation, and quality). The function links grass-roots work with policy changes at the highest level, and manages an ecosystem of partnerships including, but not limited to, community organizations, donors, peer organizations, academic institutions, media, and the state.
Role Purpose:
S/he would be responsible for implementation of the project deliverables in the project geography (Gurugram district). S/he is overall responsible for providing managerial leadership in health & nutrition focused on strengthening & capacitating government system on anthropometry, growth monitoring, prevention & management of acute malnutrition, counselling & linkage to facility based management of children and also advocating with the district officials for mobilized commitments and resources for continuation of essential nutrition services during the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic and ensure that the envisioned outcome of the project are accomplished with quality programming and contributing to the success of organizational strategy & breakthroughs.
Main responsibilities:
  • Support in the planning and implementation of project activities in the targeted geography.
  • Overall responsibility for capacity building of AWWs on MIYCN, growth monitoring, prevention & management of acute malnutrition.
  • Establish and strengthen relationship with District, Block and Field level officials of health, ICDS department.
  • Facilitating convergence meeting between, ICDS, health department & Save the Children.
  • Analyzing field level nutrition related data & develop reports for review and monitoring
  • Participate and contribute in the development of district level operational plans, including budget. Contribute in the planning of bi-annual, quarterly and monthly plans.
  • Consolidate case studies, documents and provide timely and quality reports.
  • Providing supportive supervision & mentoring to frontline workers (AWWs).
  • Ensure compliance with SC BR’s policies and practices, including the Child Safeguarding Policy.
  • Undertake appropriate additional responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

>07 years of relevant experience with a reputed national / international NGO/reputed resource agency in Nutrition programming & projects
Background & knowledge on Nutrition programming & services in public health system .
Qualifications
 
Qualification in any medical discipline MBBS/BHMS/BAMS/BDS with experience in nutrition programming
OR
Master in Public health/ Epidemiology/ Health Administration/ Health Management/ Social work   from a recognised university is essential.
