Background

The Enterprise Application Development (EAD) unit of the Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for developing sustainable and affordable IT solutions to meet UNOV/UNODC requirements, also enabling availability of the solutions more generally across the UN Secretariat entities.
 
The India Technical Hub (EAD-ITH) based in New Delhi forms part of the ITS's vital delivery pillars in keeping with the UN's revised ICT strategy. As part of this strategy and under the Head – ITH; the Graphics Designer will work with a team of highly motivated eLearning professionals and ensure the highest quality of graphics and visualization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Within delegated authority, and in close cooperation with the Head – Technology and Solution, the Graphics Designer will be responsible for the following duties:

•Visualize and create engaging and interactive designs/layouts for e-learning courses to be used on multiple devices;

•Convert images and ideas into designs.

•Brainstorm and conceptualize ideas, with the ability to produce quick sketches;

•Design and create an overall look and feel for motion graphics projects;

•Collaborate with the design team to come up with unique and engaging creative experiences;

•Discuss ideas for designs, graphics, illustrations and animations with team members before providing them for the final production;

•Training and scaling up of associate Graphic Developers and Animators;

•Communicate effectively with the development team;

•Maintain project documentation and course folders during the project lifecycle.;

•Ensures assets/data security and integrity;

•Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:
 
University degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in Arts or related field.
 
Experience:
 
•5+ years of experience in Graphics designing for eLearning using Adobe Photoshop. 
 
•2+ years of experience in Animation development 
 
Language Requirement: 
 
•Fluency in English (Required). 
•Fluency in Hindi (Required).
•Knowledge of another UN language: Arabic, Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese (Desirable)
 
 
The remuneration package is Rs 98,492/- per month (taxable). UNDP also offers additional benefits which include medical insurance coverage and limited pension reimbursement for contract holder and encourages work-life balance.
