Position:   Logistics Coordinator - National Position 

Reports to: Logistics Manager

Supervision of: Procurement officers and Logistics Assistant (for general logistics) 

Duty station: Addis Ababa    

Travel: 25%

Duration and type of contract: 1 year with possibility of extension

Role and responsibilities

Properly implement the logistics handbook and policy of NRC, ensure general logistics service efficiency, provide the best possible support to the general logistics function (fleet, stock, inventories and assets management) and build team’s capacity including area office team on that area.

Generic responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Follow proper standard NRC archiving procedure and ensure logistics documents archiving done properly on the system and in hardcopy
  • A person in charge  for the mission’s stock, fleet, assets and inventories managements
  • Centralize and process vehicle maintenances at CO level
  • Centralize and handle assets managements at CO level  
  • Prepare and compile monthly logistics reports
  • Analyses monthly logistics report and provide feedback to area offices
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of logistics management
  • Additional Responsibilities requested by the Line Manager

Specific responsibilities

  • Centralize and handle assets managements at CO level 
  • Ensure physical count done for assets, stocks and inventories at the end of fiscal years
  • Ensure the warehouse transactions (reception and issuance of the goods) done as per procedure defined in the logistics handbook &SOP
  • Organize and follow-up the delivery of requested items in collaboration with procurement team 
  • Analyze monthly logistics report and provide constructive feedback to the area office logistics and Programs
  • Centralize and process vehicle maintenances at CO level
  • Ensure existence of consolidated scheduled preventive maintenance service for NRC & UN plate vehicles, and followed properly 
  • Ensure vehicle related reports done through Terramar platform system
  • Follow-up and resolve issues related to vehicle rental service providers, if any
  • Follow-up the movement of vehicle with the logistics officer in charge of fleet and monitor on a monthly bases the Log sheets report are coherent
  • Follow and monitor the day-to-day fleet activities in collaboration with the Logistics Assistant
  • Ensure the quality of reports before submission
  • Perform other logistics functions as delegated by Logistics Manager

  • Bachelor’s Degree in procurement  and logistics or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in a procurement position preferably with NGOs
