Position: Logistics officer (Assets & Inventories)

Reports to: Logistics Manager

Supervision of: N/A 

Duty station:  Addis Ababa    

Travel: 35%

Duration and type of contract: 1 year with possibility of extension

Role and responsibilities

The purpose of the position is to support the logistics team on the assets and inventories management, and contributes the team to deliver its roles and responsibilities at the highest standard of NRC logistics handbook.

Generic responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Follow proper standard NRC archiving procedure and ensure assets and inventories documents archiving done properly on the system and in hardcopy
  • In charge  for the mission’s assets and inventories managements
  • Centralize and handle assets managements at CO level  
  • Prepare and compile monthly assets and inventories reports
  • Analyses monthly assets and inventories report and provide feedback to area offices
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of assets and inventories managements
  • Additional Responsibilities requested by the Line Manager

Specific responsibilities

  • Centralize and handle assets managements at CO level 
  • Ensure physical count done for assets and inventories at the end of fiscal years
  • Ensure assets and inventories transferred against signed transfer form (system generated for assets and manual for inventories)
  • Organize and follow-up the movement of assets and update tacking in Agresso
  • Analyze monthly assets and inventories report and provide constructive feedback to the area office logistics and Programs
  • Follow-up and ensure maintenance/services of assists and inventories
  • Ensure all assets registered and tracked through Agresso system
  • Ensure the quality of reports before submission
  • Perform other logistics functions as delegated by Logistics Manager

  • Previous experience from working under pressure in emergency contexts
  • Excellent knowledge of English

  • Strong computer skills, especially in Excel and use of email

  • Bachelor’s Degree in procurement  and logistics or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in a procurement position preferably with NGOs
