CHAI, in partnership with its India affiliate, William J. Clinton Foundation's (WJCF), has been working in India since 2004 in close partnership with and under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the central and state levels on an array of high priority initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes. Currently, CHAI/WJCF programs support government initiatives on Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis-C, cancer, immunization, and health financing. Additionally, CHAI/WJCF supports many state governments on large-scale programs to arrest childhood and maternal mortality due to malnutrition, anaemia, diarrhoea and pneumonia, and helping increase access to quality family planning services.

 

CHAI India HIV team is a key source of support for National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Ministry of Health and works to address barriers to access and foster a healthy competitive marketplace for essential diagnostic testing. The team works closely with diagnostics manufacturers, governments, and multilateral organizations to lower prices, increase access to testing and treatment, and accelerate the entry and uptake of new drugs and diagnostics for HIV.

 

The CHAI HIV program is looking for a Senior Analyst who can shoulder the dual responsibilities of the working closely with the Program Manager on project strategy & execution of the HIV program’s various verticals for NACO. The role entails working with an entrepreneurial mind-set and self-motivation. A highly qualified, dynamic, energetic person with exceptional people skills and experience of working in challenging environments would make for a strong candidate for this role. Demonstrated application of analytical skills and problem solving in complex environments would be essential. Previous exposure to strategy projects and/or working on outputs for senior leadership would help bolster the application. 

Responsibilities
  • Identify and define CHAI's overall strategy for various project areas, develop clear operational plans for execution, and continually identify opportunities for CHAI to add value and maximize impact
  • Play a significant role in strategizing and building new ideas and concept
  • Coordinate project-wide outputs related to execution, implementation, reporting, compliance and updates
  • Lead the development of innovative approaches and tools as well as documentation on HIV information management, Point of Care testing, Viral Load scale-up and Early Infant diagnosis
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders in government, international partners, donors and NGOs, and ensure maximum coordination of resources and effort
  • Support CHAI in fulfilling any relevant donor reporting requirements
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the Program Manager or Country Director
  • Liaise with CHAI’s global teams regarding information about new diagnostic technologies and assist with in-country technical or operational evaluations or new product roll-out strategies to improve uptake of new diagnostics products as they become available
  • Disseminate information from CHAI and other sources on supply dynamics and access-to-drugs & diagnostics issues
  • Assist with budget and scenario analysis at the request of the NACO; help develop strategies to advocate for the changes with the NACO and/or partners
  • Provide assistance to the Manager for budgeting, forecasting, supply chain management, and overall health systems strengthening
  • Assist the team to build strong relationships with government representatives, suppliers and other key opinion leaders and partners
  • Provide operational support to the Manager to develop, plan, and implement multiple activities simultaneously
  • Develop work plans and budgetary projections for the program
  • Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
  • MBA or Bachelor's degree with exceptional experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience in a field requiring both, analytics and exceptional presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) skills and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proven track record of working in challenging multi-stakeholder environments & ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders and drive immediate results
  • Experience in the planning and execution of large scale projects, including budgeting and activity planning
  • Experience structuring and leading evidence based decision making processes
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives
  • Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity, and problem solve in a fast-paced, limited structure, multicultural environment
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Willingness to travel if required and at short notice, even to remote places
  • Consulting or Project Management experience would be an added benefit
  • Fluency in English and Hindi
